New Storyline Mod?

I was wondering how many love the storyline and still play it?

Have you ever wanted more in the storyline then what vanilla has to offer?

If so and you want a storyline done the way you like it please post here your ideas of what you would like to see in a single player storyline mod. I am very interested in finding out what us SP players like and do not like.

If I get many replies/requests I will make a storyline with the most requested and liked add-on's. So here is your chance Storyline players to get a mod just the way you think it should be.

For Starters

Here are some things that could be done, but not limited to these. This is just more of an idea starter. I don't want to get away from vanilla but use what the game has to offer.

1. Higher paying missions both random and storyline
2. Harder missions in the House systems and Independent Worlds.
3. Up to 12 missions for all bases/planets
4. 3 types of scanners and tractor beams
5. Upgrades: Armor, Power Plants, and Engines
6. Cruise speed 350-450 Remember the Hovis race when thinking about the cruise speed
7. More NPC’s
8. Battleship encounters with real tuff battle fleets
9. Add lootable pilots to all factions and a place to be sold at.
10. Add Mancers Freelancer ship pack
12. Rebalance all weapons
13. Raise commodity prices
14. Add commodities to other bases that should have them
15. Open Jumpholes after mission 1
16. Where is the LSF? We can add the LSF to Liberty Space
17. Where did the Order go? We can add the Order to the Unknown 1 & 2 to fight the Nomads there

There are many more options we could go with but this will help you get some idea of what can be done.

Yes! Storyline mod! W00t! Couple things... Armour upgrades (as you suggested) - hell yes! More wrecks, with code name weapons usable during the storyline would be sweet. Likewise more ships (ones that fit in the universe - not a bunch of star trek ships or whatever. Freelancer style ships. The ships is one of the big ones. Not ultimate powerful ships like everyone likes to add, but ships throughout all levels. A couple weak light fighters, heavy and very heavy. Thats what I would love to see.

I would like the storyline to last longer then it does. Am I the only one who thinks the storyline is to fast and too easy?

No I also think the storyline is too fast and easy, I think it would be great to add new stuff.

You might be able to add some content from the **Tutorial** - making Story missions that is in the Tutorial Compilation thread.

What I would like to see is this:
Once you finish the original story line, you're in the open single player mode.
So, then perhaps once you reach a certain higher level..say level 38 (max)..
Orillion or Juni makes contact with you for another mission...
this time, they're facing the nomad mother ship.

I've been studying this possiblity.


Also, there has been a development: Something about this ship looks familiar...


However, since you'll be sticking with a "new" story line...somewhere in the 13 missions then....I'd probably lay in the mother ship somewhere near the end.

But there is the trouble about 13 missions max... unless you can come up with a way around that, in which case, you rule. That would be incredible if you could do that... I kept on playing in SP, always expecting a contact from Orion every time I went up a level... if you could add more missions at the end of the game, it would be incredible. Who against though? Dom Ka'vosh? Go through the Hyper gate to chase down the Nomads?

mission numbers are hardcoded, how will you get around that? i wanted to rebalance the original missions then have new ones, by combining missions into one, but i scrapped that now there is just mission 13 and all new

I will not be adding any new missions just the 13 it comes with. So let us stay focused on everything else but a new storyline mission.

YES!!! Awsome! New storyline: Nomads come back with a vengeance and Von Clausen returns!!!!

Chugoku:
Nomads take control of destroyed arch.
Dragons fight.

Sigma (something, i forget)
Luxury liner hawaii destroyed by nomads.
outcast launch attacks from omricron beta vs nomads.

Omicron beta
outcasts cornered by nomads from upper unknown.
Hive becomes active.

Omicron gamma
Nomads launch offensive.
Ever fearless corsairs push them back into low unknown.

Von clausen returns in time warn rheinland of nomads coming from hamburg shipyard. Order tracks him down with your help.

that's the prologue. But I think ozu should return too.

Ok seriously. I think it's possible to create a new storyline all together. All you need are random missions, wrecks and commodities. You will be limited in your options and you will have to follow directions since It won't be all harcoded.
But with some creativity I think it's possible.

A new Storyline mission or missions would be great, but that is beyond my modding expertise so if someone can and would make extra storyline missions and get them to work I will add it in. I myself just do not know how to make something like that work. I have read the Tutorial but my old lame brain just cannot grasp it.

All help is welcome also. Ideas and coders, modelers, etc. We all can work together and get a really cool SP mod made. Oh and BP since you started the new storyline missions idea you can head that up

I like the idea of more ships, but the idea of them being "Freelancer" only ships cuts down on a lot of possibilities. My idea is that you can FL versions of ones from other universes. Like, take a ship from Star Trek, but re-model and re-texture it to look like a Freelancer original, but with a tiny bit of the original's characteristics. For example, one ship that has a very distinctive silhouette is the Starfury from Babylon 5. Why not remodel it and make one that looks like a Freelancer original, but retains some of that awesome silhouette? Just a thought.

I was thinking of something like that myself, but it would be years before I got enough expirience in modding do do it properly... If I do not lost interest in FL along the way.

I'll say one thing: Chungoku Gate Construction Site. It has bugged me, that I always get message "no missions, return later". Even at the 38th level. Have heard the rumor about "Dragon's particle cannon" shooting at it on the other side. There sould be missions against it for Dragons and for DSE- defending it.
It would be great, if while we are progressing through the main storyline, there is visible progress in the costruction of the gate, Hokkaido TL becoming operational and at the end, the Gate to Chungoku staring to work. Or being destroyed by Dragons. (are these possibe at all?)
And the second Construction Site in Tau system, leading to Outcasts teritory. It could as well not to be operational at the begining...

A while back Chips told me that the next version of the Evolutions Mod would have new storyline content and that Accushot was making these new missions but then Chips started classes at the University and didn't have time to finish that version.

Maybe it would be possible to get a hold of Accushot and see what if anything could be accomplished.
