Earendil,

I have re-emailed the files to you maybe this time it will work.. hopefully if that fails the ftp link I sent you will enable you to download the files.

Yes there is a server side patch that is available ONLY to sysops as the files are useless for the client mod. We made a new patch especially for servers that incorporates the fixes server side and adds the official Microsoft 1.1 patch, we wanted to test it more before release, and the one report I have seems to indicate that the patch adds stability server side and works better with the ifso files..

If any of the server operators would like the server side patch.. email me and I'll email it back.. (4 meg file), we intend to put it on Lancers for download in the next day or so, even tho we wanted to test it further.

You know an easy way to apply this patch besides activating 2 mods is to copy all the files in the patch into the 273_1 folder.

but if it will work properly is a different matter lol.

P.S,
Better post this...,

Irrespective of the patch version, you will get an 'Error' message from FLmod manager when you first go to activate the patch

"This mod conflicts with the following mod: Epsilon Mod Version 2.73_1 etc...."

Ignore the error warnings and load the patch OVER the mod.. I.E. MOD FIRST, then THE PATCH !!!!!

I will upload a mod version 2.75 to lancers this week that incorporates the fixes\version no. change for those that want it but felt the patch was the best easy fix option..
(Much as we hate them - but you can test a mod to death.. and still miss small things)

I haven't been here in a while. sorry for the infrequency of my visits to TLR, but this site is a real pain in the rear to load when you have dialup. Now for the question.

I see this mod, and a whole lot of patches and variants, so which one is the improved version of the original?

Hey guys... just thought I'd make sure this was understood:

Feel free to use the HFuel Tanker mod, and the code that accompanies it in your mod.

I think that the ship is close enough to "FL style" that it should fit into your mod pretty well... and I have some more very interesting code ideas coming up that might be of direct use to y'all in the future, so keep watching my Modular Code thread and the News... I will be offering a simple method to mass-alter weapons balance for FL weapons soon, using XML and a custom weapon_equip, among other things, which you could use as a codebase- put your pretty weapon FX together with greater abiilty to change FL's balance, and you could build some very cool things

I found the answer to my question and downloaded both the mod and the patch, but my computer (windows XP professional) didn't recognize is as a Freelancer mod. I extracted the files manually, but then the computer said that some of the files were password protected, and sealed them off. So now I can't land on any of the Epsilon planets or bases, and I can't even get into some Epsilon systems. I think that my computer didn't recognize the mod because I used someone else's computer to download it to a CDRw, which I then took to my computer, so I'm gonna try downloading it directly onto my computer with my incredibly slow dialup connection. If that doesn't work, then I'll let you know.

hey, im trying to downlaod it with DAP and for some reason it doesnt have resume enabled. is there a link to a download that has resume? thank you if you know

Post Tue Apr 19, 2005 6:03 pm

gryphondelta, do you have FLMM installed on your computer? If you dont, thats why it isnt being recognized

Pilotx, I think Firefox uses its .part files to allow you to resume downloads, I'm not positive though, I guess you could give it a try or ask someone who knows more.

I may be blonde and a complete ditz, but even I'm not that dumb. If it were something as simple as that I wouldn't have even bothered you. And it's not my theory of problems with the network either because this time I downloaded it directly to my computer, and it still didn't recognize it. I'm still trying things but any help would be very... helpful.

Ok gryphon, if the file is being recognized as just a zip file, simply unzip the file, then drag the resultant folder into the Mods folder in the FLMM folder. Just load FLMM and the mod should appear in the list, that should do it for you.

hey how did you know i have firefox?

your sping on me!!!!! aHHHHHHH!!!! you CIA

Post Thu Apr 21, 2005 12:18 pm

Thanks, but I solved the problem. I unzipped it manually again and this time it worked. The wierd thing is that I simply repeated what I did the first time, only I uninstalled both the game and FLMM and then reinstalled them. I guess that's all it needed.

Before I forget, I do have a question. Is the ship int the picture in Hayallo's post a part of this mod?

Dear Harrier, Parabolix and the rest of the Nova Team,

please accept my warmest congratulations for your inspiring, excellent work.
Your commitment to the Noble Cause of Selfless Service to the FL Community should be in many ways rewarding, considering the high quality-, stability- and challenge-level of your efforts. Only the very best can survive in your Mod !
There could be an E-Mod World Championship, to crown the outmost skilled pilot
outhere, the E-Mod Master. It is worth it.

Harrier should continue with modelling. He has a futuristic but logical aerodynamic
language, which can be much more advanced, if he concetrates on linear, clearer,
dynamic shapes, which are timeless, practical, close to reality, perhaps symmetric but pretty and yet with a technology far beyond our time. The answer can be found in Nature.

The important issue in terms of aeronautical design is not the corner but the curve. Not the angular surface resistance but the linear flow of perspectives.
As perspective is relative, the speed-to-shape effect should create a dynamic appearance which can be forwarded by the human imagination even by staying
still.

Harrier is very talented. I am sure he has many ideas and drawings in his closet.
There can be for him only one direction from now on: Excellence.

Due to serious consulting activity, traveling is almost my custom schedule. Nevertheless You Harrier and your team are a driving force which should sustain and prevail through time and difficulties. Everyone should support you, so that instead of many, low skilled, technical weak, unstable, unrealistic movie copies, the TLR community receives some high, advanced, scientific, new, creative, progressive, professional QUALITY which outruns the original FL by parsecs.

Only very few can achieve such levels but the bottom line should be the same for all of you outhere, irrespective your age, or Mod, or title. Don´t devide yourself in hundreds of Mods, reunite your skills, eachone in his sector, accept the best of you as coordinators in each field, create a hieararchical structure, as in the most succesfull global companies throughout the times, and work together to achieve
Excellence. Something that noone (except the genius minds among you ofcourse)
thought it can be possible. Something brilliant, trully innovative, not FL 2, FL90, no ! The TLR-FL, something Unique.

Enough now, time is running out. Parabolix, I have been near your area many times due to invitations as head consultant for international scientific congresses.
I would like to give to you also my warmest congratulations and my best wishes
for the future.

Remember: Refuse to accept anything but the very best and you will very often get it. Don´t wait for your ship to come in...swim out to it !

Thank you for your time and patience reading this article. Perhaps I establish
contact with you again in the future, as time goes by, after keeping an eye or two
on TLR if it is allowed by "Admiral" Harrier ofcourse...

Remember: Be the light that others can come to with their ideas, visions and dreams. Never doupt that blending your talents with those of others can change the world.

Yours Sincerely
Prof. Quasar

"Genius leads to Science-Enlighted Souls lead to Divine Truth...
Life Quality depends on our commitment to Excellence."

That was different ... in a good way

...at any rate, would y'all be willing to comment any on my modular XML thread about balance, specifically missiles? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that, since I'm trying to build a better codebase... and I've been getting down-and-dirty with what makes the missiles seem so unbalanced... and how to fix it. There are, it seems, some practical ways to fix them- just wait for the next comment in the thread, and I will reveal that particular rabbit- it'd be nice to hear some practical feedback though, since I'm hoping to convince people that "tagged" INIs + XML/FLMM are going to be the way of the future here...
