Well, there is one problem, I sent it to you via e-mail, but I'll post it here as well.

When I downloaded from Hotmail, it only had 2k as the file size, and I can't edit like that.

On the e-mail I sent you my IMs. It should work if you send it to me like that.

Figured I'd update this one in case anyone else has the same problem this person had.

In the spoiler forum one of the sticky posts has a link to a much older post that has a step by step walkthrough on how to edit the ini involving that mission so that even if you fail the race it still moves on to the next mission. I never tried it (i was too stubborn to give up, heh) so I'm unsure of how well it works.

Personally I played through almost the entire sp storyline with the TIE fighter. In the race the challenge wasnt making the turns tight enough at that speed, the challenge was to keep your turns from being *too* tight. On the first go I kept finding myself overshooting and ending up headed towards the center of the race area. That thing is sickeningly maneuverable.

Well I hate this race mod! I could get past the race on the orginal game, but this mod makes it impossible (for me). I have been using the Light Tie Fighter.
I have spent the best part of 8 hours trying to complete the race. I quit.

I do not intend fiddling with code and editors, I'm a user!

I have spent many hours trying to obtain this mod, everything else seems fine, but this race is in the pits.

I won't be playing the game any more or until somebody alters the race.

Perhaps in TNG 2.0, the race could have an option to race or not, the 'not' having a penalty of $300,000 that would then balance any MP woes.
Alternatively, do away with the race all together, this part of the game always struck me as stupid, why doesn't Trent just shoot Hovis (in the legs) to get the info?
If you want to race ships, play 'Tie fighter'.

TNG 1.60 is great, apart from the bloody race.

Regards,
Corporal.

@corporal: Don't give up !
As you might have seen in the LR-Forums (or elsewhere): there are (exactly) TWO groups of people playing FL: those who think the race is easy and those who are close to a nervous breakdown or a heart attack because of that race and because of Hovis' mouth ...
For me during the first campaign it took about 6 hrs to win for that race. After checking the LR-forums I even thought: the different difficulty MUST have to do something with hardware configuration (!).
It does not. My son (13) won the race on my comp on first attempt ...
As a HINT for you (and for me and all others with difficulties to win against this &%*ç+-Hovis): search for a ship with excellent strafing abilities (e.g. Starfury !). With such a ship you are able to get through the most difficult gates.
It may take two or three trials, but then HE has to shut up ;-)

I'll try a Star Fury......and let you know.

I had one more go, before trying to find the star fury and actually succeeded flying the light tie fighter on the first attempt.
I'm stumped, I didn't do anything different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, thanks, but when I finish this game I'll wait for version 2, hopefully the race will be removed or made a choice. Personally I hope they chuck it.
