Well, it's a space sim (joystick-controlled). The action is set around 2160s. Most of the Sol system is colonized, there's tension between the Alliance (formed of the US, European countries, and Japan) and the Coalition (formed of (of course) Russia, some Islamic countries, and some countries of the East (sth like China, Northern Korea, etc.). The're planning negotiations, but the COalition's head, admiral Kulov, makes an ambush and destrys ca.1/2 of the Alliance fleet and bases. Here the action begins, as the Alliance starts to retaliate. Due to the lack of experienced pilots, volunteers are recruited, and youo become one of them, flying with the 45th volunteer squadron. A good game, really worth playing. I enjoyed it immensely. There's a demo version in the Downloads section featuring two missions not included in the original game and making a kind of a prequel to the game. Hope I answered your question.

I just got it, it's AWESOME. Buy it, it's 1.75 on amazon.com. And it's missions make FL look like a joke. I'm stuck on 13, but I've allready have had to redo several missions. The interesting thing is, that you can complete a mission, without suceeding in it. And, there are varriable degrees of sucess. In order to proceed to the next mission, all you have to do it make it back to your capital ship, even if that means in an escape pod. You could fail the mission miserably, accomplish certain goals, or perform above and beyond the call of duty. All of this affects your rank, what ships you can access, the movies you get to see, and the fate of the Alliance. Oh, and your comander in the game is a total hottie, makes Juni look like Stephen Hawking in a dress, er, LSF uniform. --- VH16

@VH: actually, if you eject and the Coalition doesn't toast you, the Nanny picks you up and then you're transfered to another ship (at least that's what they say). End of story - you have to redo the mission. So, no, you can't go on if you eject. Plus, if you screw up badly, you have to face the firing squad.

Oh, yes, those animations are sweet the first time through. It's funny just to piss off Moose just to hear what he says. My favorite, "What are ya doing, sightseeing? Let's land allready!" Ah, Moose, such a good co-pilot. --- VH16

@DSQrn: dunno about Canada - actually, it's not really mentioned there. Maybe by that time they joined the US?
