Nickless, did you ever read the walkthrough on this site ? Then perhaps you will discover that the level you are talking about is perhaps not so immpossible to complete as you think, and therefore the game is not so crappy as you say. Or, in a more ideal situation: try to play it multiplayer online in co-op mode. That will certainly improve your chances of getting through that level. But I wouldn't say it will not be an attack on your nerve system.......

Hmm, what exactly is the problem with the mission? Shooting the torps or...?

Post Sat May 22, 2004 6:00 am

nah, I was a bit frustrated that's all. Of cours it's not a crappy game, I'm just a crappy pilot, but I'll never admit that. AND it was the first time I tried it and it was like 2 am so I was a bit tired perhaps etc. etc.

I'll try it again someday soon.
Oh, adn I didn't know sl could still be played online. I tried it once but I got all sorts of errors I can't remember and I read somewhere that the MP support was taken down or something like that...

ANd I'd rather try to complete the game without a walkthrough although the tip about the shroud was very usefull, tnx Esq

I tried looking for a nice sig pic, preferrably one of a Hong Kong retail market street with all the ugly signs all over the place.
Anyone who can help he get this gets a cooky

I'm a crappy pilot too. I can never shoot the dam torpedoes quickly enough guess we'll have to be crap together, Nickless.

Come on guys! All it takes is a bit of practice and copious amount of ginger beer . It's bloody irritating, but it is worth it in the end. Actually, the ending is anti-climactic, but still...

Well, what do you expect, it's a lancer game

Funny thing is, I checked the tactics forum, for the 1st time, and only found questions and tips on mission 21, not about teh one I had problems with. What does that say about me?

@Nickless: the easiest thing is to take the Kamovs out when hovering over the hangar door (just make sure you get rid of the turrets): they cloak only after they have left the ship, and, coming out right under you, they make an easy target, and you don't have to chace them

An idea came to my head and is now desperately searching for brain

@zlo: that was actually the most easy part of the mission it's after that all hell breaks loose. Or do more kamov's launch after the 1st two, cause I get no message about that. Maybe I do tho, but I won't hear anything cause I'm to busy, lol

What I meant was that you don't fly away after the first two. I engage the Basilisks only for as long as I have to protect the Gamma. After that I leave them till later and concentrate on the Kamovs in the above-mentioned manner, making breaks only to shoot down torps from the capship and come back to the initial position ASAP. This way I shot down all Kamovs before they made a single launch. It's the capship torps that made me most trouble.

So there's more then two Kamovs... little buggers.
Ok, I'll see if that works.

Yay I got em
Took me a good 10 tries in one evening (game crashes, and close encounters with Torps etc) but I got em. Damn mission.

Now to figure out how to set of those charges...
I think I've seen some threads about that mission too.
