**Tutorial** - Realistic Battleship settings

The settings for the original realistic battleship should be that as soon as the cutscene ends and you hit the throttle. The speed settings should let you hit 89kph or thereabouts and you should just clear the docking ring clamps.

As for sounds i didn't realize the problem until now. Either its because your too far from the guns or there aren't any. I'll begin work on that soon.

I think theres a couple guns that dont have sounds, I'm not sure.. but it seems like they do.

Oh.. And make sure your aligned with the ring before jumping. If u just hit dock, and your a spun the other way around, your gonna have trouble, the ship speeds to max usually, and therefor, just goes in circles. Lol

add gunships to the game instead ;-)

I loved the gunships, also would be cool if you could edit or make more powerfull versions of fighters, it doesnt seem logical that the corsairs have ships capable of taking on an entire wing, 10 -20, normal fighters in the liberty system, single handedly capable of taking down 2-3 battleships (as the game uses them) and do it.

that titan is way to powerfull, there needs to be the gunships i think, make them worth 1.5 mil or so ;-) add heavy fighters to all the stock systems, so that they have a nice VHF.

would love to see Junis ship as the VHF for liberty. the Anubis for the HF (but give it some better stats IE more armour and better weapon capabilities) for the kusari.

and give everyone their respective gunships.

wander i havent had any problems clearing the docking ring its just butt impossible to re dock.

If its too hard, its probably because of the maneuverablity settings. You'll have to line it up just nicely before you begin docking. If its too difficult, use the "battleships made easy" settings.

Ok managed to get off planet , there are a couple of issues tho. while on planet side , the weapons do not show as lockable and unlockable, also if you sell one and try to either rebuy it or purchase another of same class you just can't . This may be because the battleship is hardcoded for its weapons , I think a better approach to this is not to use an existing battleship but to increase the hit points of one of the frieghters along with adding class 10 shielding . I mean look at that battleship, only class 5 shields on it that not right. the other thing on the battleship is while in turret mode its all out of wack. The center point is inside the battleship .

Didn't you follow this threads tutorial to the letter? If you did, weapons should be dismountable and the turret mode should be optimized for the Osiris. Step 8 covers the turret camera view settings.

Just a slight problem I've been having with a couple of the ships I've tried to make, and the great battleship you made, Wanderer. If anything, be it a missile, all the way up to a freighter, hits the bottom of the battleship, it flips, usually multiple times. The mass is set correctly to my knowledge, and I've looked all around for a reason behind this. Have you, or anyone else noticed this, and do you know of a way to fix it, if so?

The flipping problem was more or less solved when i posted the realistic mod. Hmm try coming to a complete stop and letting people smack you. I've noticed that when your moving the ship seems to recieve 2 to 4 times more force than when sitting still. I'm pretty sure i saw freighters and other heavy ships get smacked the same way and they didn't move that much either. Could be the type setting but you lose proper control if you put the original setting there. As for the ready made files Kenny9119, could you wait until tommorrow? I've got a lot of work now and deadlines to meet not to mention the files i used are a mess. I'll have to make a brand new set so as to remove possible conflict. Will it be okay if i e-mailed the files to you when i'm done? I don't know any good sites to post the files.

Hey why don't you put it up on a site like Geocities, angelfire, or any of those?; those are small files so I think there should be no problem. In case you couldn't, I'd really like if you sent them to me because I tried doing everything you said but the game crashes each time I click on "Select Ship"...I dunno why, I checked like a thousand times and it does not work. So whenever you have a chance please send them to me at [email protected]
