2Korn,

Did you delete the saved MP games? (that's what usually crashes mine after mod testing and switching back/forth). You can just delete them from the mydocs\mygames\freelancer\accnts\multiplayer\ folder. Inside that folder is a numbered folder for each account that played on your server. Inside that folder is a numbered file for each character created (they are date-stamped by save). Just delete the ones you created while using mods. Same goes for SP saves if those were the ones you used to toy with mods.

Remember, game saves made with certain mods will often crash FL when the mod is overwritten or changed. To be safe, I always start a new toon for testing and delete him at the character screen before I exit the server (if you know you're changing mods).

Hmmm, would it be too much to ask that you mod creaters make these mods so the rest of us not versed in mod injection can install them . I tried it and screwed up my game and had to reinstall it. Keep in mind not everyone can do what you do.
Other mods like for independance war 2 you just had to drop the whole thing in the mod folder . Can we do something like that ?

You cant.

The mods will rewrite the old ships.. Meaning, until someone gets a fully mod with all the ships together your stuck like it for now..

Lets say you install the battleship, then u want to install a gunboat, using a installer.. Well... The gunboat will rewrite the battleship because there same files, thats why u gotta do it manually to put them both in.

I don't think a full installer will be in until I get a bunch of cap ships done.

Actually you could set the system to access a particular folder for specific files thereby allowing you to create a mod system but this still requires that you overwrite 1 specific file. I wont be doing that until i finish with a whole new set of ships and equipment.

For all you guys asking for a mod installer: I'm working on one now, and you can try out the alpha version already (go to my thread). The test mod it uses is Wanderer's battleship mod

Okay , then would you guys let me know what program your using to edit these files , I'd like to see if I can do some changes and are you editing the save games or the actual program itself? thanks

heh ive been playing with this thing for about an hour and i got say it rocks. settings are close to perfect for a battleship however its impossible to dock with this thing. planets and stations you can kinda get but trade lanes are a no go unless you are lined up perfectly. is ther any way to make it so you can turn around in place or maybe up the cruise speed to 1000 or something so you dont have to use the lanes all together

I seem to have the same problem however when i purchased the ship on manhattan and launched the ship alwasys hits the docking ring and everythng in the system goes hostile on me. May need to turn off the collision factor on the docking rings if that can be done , don't know tho .

Ok , I saw what was causing me to crash the dock ring, the ship gets halfway through and then the gates start to close and they hit the hull and the ship gets stuck, My thoughts are its because of the ship that was replaced by the battleship, its smaller and the gate thinks its still the same ship not bigger. I've tried this several times and each time the gates start closing and its a cut scene so there is no way to get the ship through . the cutscene ends just about halfway thru the ring .

what to do to fix this?

I know this is supposed to realistic turning based on the enormous size of the ship. But it's so sluggish I can't even go places. Takes a full minute to turn around. I miss gates and trade lanes and takes 3 minutes to go around again.

Also, none of my guns or missles have any sound.

Thats how a ship is suppost to be..

Its realistic, note the term I mean... you don't really see battleships move in battle. Do you? Not much, if at all. Thats the reason why you wouldn't WANT to be the battleship. If it was a huge fast turning ship, the game would be quite unbalanced, at least make the battleship slow and sluggish, the way it should be. If ya change it to high turn rate, would be kinda like a god ship.

If it wants to go blow up stuff, its gonna take awhile to get there.. More for .. defending and stuff.. But good for attacking.. Just needs fighter ships for defending

well theriin lies the problem. a battle ship was never meant to dock with a planet maybe a mooring rig ot to a shipyard. the game was just not designed for a pilotable battle ship. i think a great idea already stated in this thread would be for a "shuttle" to dock between ports but that would take a major mod which we dont really have the capacity for right now.
