Unfortunately I can not give you the current DLL. I am afraid you won't be able to use it. Additionally its no where near completion.

Grover,

This look to be something very impressive when done, keep us up to date on your progress.

Also if you want or need any help I might be able to spare some time for ini coding or something.

Ok, please try our EvolvedMod.
We are running the Dynamic Economy since May 2006, still improving, of course !
Perhaps you'll find some ideas to improve your solution !

Features for trade ( beside many other features ):
- daily update of prices
- high level products have partlists
- productions are depend of the delivery of raw-materials
- bank-system ( transfer money from one char to another )
- own stocks at different bases
- random trade-missions

Be aware. To be a trader is hard work and a challenge every day !

I'm afraid there are differences between your approach and the approach I've taken: The economy runs inside Freelancer and is *live* not some process, which runs at scheduled intervals and updates scripting files...

Oh yes i know.
The difficulty is not mainly the server-side. The difficulty is to transport the new information of the market to client-side.
If not optimal solved, it will, beside the continuous recalc of the market, produce great lags and server-loads.
Therefore, I decided to choose this batch-process to save the server-capacities.
Lol, and beside this, you have normally a day to react on problems, which will come, when you have started such a project
So, please Grover, go ahead !

Don't advertise in other people's threads. That is extremely rude.

Any Ideas to when this Mod'll be finished? I'm curently working on my own Mod, but it's nowhere near as complex as this. I won't mention anthing about it, but if you look around, you might find hints to what's coming up. I really want to add this onto my Mod it will make it feel more... Well, Complete, and Make it Infinitly more awesome.

Any mod will be released(some real economy patch for vanilla FL)?

Post Fri Feb 09, 2007 1:52 am

It will be done when its done. I haven't yet decided on the way I'll distribute the addon.

This will be a handy thing when done for a lot of mods. I look forward to being able to play with it.

Having watched this thread from the beginning, and my own analysis of the fictitious "dll commands" proving that FL will not recognise them , I am wondering whether this was not just a childish inuendo by Mr Grover to get someone else to come up with an actual solution, but claim the credit for himself perhaps?

You know, like "it was MY idea in the First Place!!"??

Just my evil suspicious mind

Grover keeps good company, IBM does the very same thing but on a larger scale. They have pools of "thinkers" who come up with new ideas and patent them without spending much money on researching them - then when another company comes up years later and spends the vast amounts of R&D money and perfects the technology, IBM jumps out and claims it as their own invention - and sadly they have the financial clout to win in court too. They register thousands of patents each year without developing the technologies or methods. Sadly these shady and dislikeable practices diminish the true value and temendous other contributions of that great technology company.

In the meantime other more productive people here HAVE come up with a variable economy, that changes by running a "scrambler" utility and restarting the server - that is very good and important work guys.

On the overall worth of this project - it's a lot of work to develop a true real-time dynamic economy guys, and our players have already expressed a strong disinterest in exploring new trade routes every time they join the server, to the point they will leave our server.

So for our server it's a no-go.

Roleplay: - the art of self-deceipt!
