**Tutorial** : Upping the draw limit

Here you find the different tutorials on editing and MODing Freelancer

Problem is : We do not know the exact value of the "death box" "kill zone" or whatever you want to call it. I made many tests, but they all ended up with fairly unprecise values, and none of the logical values worked (768 000 for example, or 750 000)

But I am not ever sure if that could be removed using the same technique. We'd have to find out.

OMG THANK YOU!!

I love you! I absolutely love you!

That limit would be just about the thing in freelancer I hate the most.

Thank you.

I was fiddling with a problem I had with scales and I was looking for the mythic 250k draw limit. I found it!

I had almost missed this one. You've made me and probably a lot of people very, very happy Thanks!!!

O.k., theres' still one thing that's been getting me, how is it people know what the values are equil to? I mean is there a site that tells you how to read the numbers, and how to replace them with what, or what. If there is, please tell me, because 1) I am very confused on how people find these things, and 2) I would really like to know.

Everything is nothing, but nothing is not everything.

It's something you learn as a programmer.

I am having a problem with my Hex Editor, when I try to find the 32 bit float it will not find it for some reason. I am using the Hex Workshop.
It's becoming very annoying becuase this would fix the ring problem I am having with planets being to far.
You think someone can help me here really fast?

Edit: I think it is my version of my exe. file becuase I checked another Exe. file in a mod and looked up the value of 250000 in 32 bit float. It shows up in that one, but not my unmodded one. I reinstalled like 3 times to see if it was a mistake and it still tells me that it isn't there.
I can't use that exe. file in the mod becuase it isn't my work.

The vanilla exe is no use to you for editting, you need the forbidden "no cd hack" version to do any editting.

**shuffles of with a new headache**

Any chance of finding the tradelane speed using this method? Do we even know what speed it actually moves your ship at?

Never mind I figured it out heh.

Can someone please inform this newbie on the benefits of upping that draw limit? Does it just mean bigger systems? Or that the navmap draws more...

I'm unsure...
