Silvik...Outstanding!!!

I had played SP last year, just after you had released TU 2.1, now I've been playing it again on my home lan in MP.... Great!!! The stations and ships are wonderful in their detail
IThere are times, during intense activity, when the server really bogs down. It happens also during docking in an asteroid field. I'm not having the problem with the other large mods.
System:: Soyo mb; AMD 3200+; 1 gig ram; ATI 3600XP video 128k mem. Options set at 1024x760, 16mill colors. All sound and graphics at max.

I agree with Arg about the BH ships, too much muscle for fl space but ok in the "outer territories".
I can't wait for the next installment!!

Chris::: Practice Practice Practice. I think that the AI is just fine, but you can give yourself more start money by editing the newplayer.ini in ;freelancer/data/characters; and that will help you upgrade quicker.

Comment on FlyByU's post.

I don't really like the idea of the Order being pitted against all of the other houses and the bounty hunters as well as the nomads. If you kill nomads, your rep should improve with the other houses, same goes for the order. Make it so that your empathy levels do better with the outcasts and corsairs than with the other pirate types when killing nomads. As primarily a trader, I'm busy enough with the nomads that I don't need problems with the others as well.

While it's true that some of the heavy duty fighters are too cheap and too easy to come by earky in the game, the vhf's shouldn't be buyable any closer than the border worlds. I don't see much of a problem with the weapons, you have to be reasonably friendly with every body but the nomads just to get to toledo for some good stuff.

Hi. I'm new to this and not very expert at modding. I am using FLMM and I tried running Tie Universe because it seems to be the only SW single-player mod out there.

Unfortunately, it didn't run. I got that ini error.

Reading the board, I installed the SDK and tried again.

Now there's no error, but the game starts up with the "Freelancer" splash screen and then crashes back to desktop with no warning.

Anyone have a solution for this? It only happens with TIE Universe w/ SDK 1.3.

Hey RedFox

What's really IMPORTANT, is to start with a fresh, clean load of FreeLancer. If I want to save my current version I rename it to something else, Freelancer.xxxx. Then do a reload of the game. If you have been playing on line, DO NOT uninstall, it will change your MP ID. If you don't have the room on your hard drive, just delete all of the files in the freelancer directory.

Then Load the SDK 1.3. I havn't had any trouble with the non advanced 1.4 patch.

Then activate your mod. You may find that ModManager still says that the mod is still active. If so under tools, run the restore backup option. That will clear the field and you're good to go.

If you did want to save your current game, don't forget to move your saved games to a secure place. You'll find them under my docunents/my games/freelancer/accts/singleplayer.

I hope this helped.

BTW, some of the newer mods don't play well under WIN 98. I had to switch to XP

Yo Silvic,

Still no problems on my lan, it's absolutely stable, which is more than I can say for a couple of others!!!

Any idea when you'll put out the next version/patch?

@Shaman - working hard to finish some new models and starspheres

Silvik,

I increased the cruise speed to 625, it covers the distance much better without getting killed in the asteroid fields. I left the thrusters alone, need them in combat as they are. If the speed is too high, besides the problem with asteroids, you over run the action.

Do you mind if I try to put any other ships or stations in the mod. I'm just a beginner, but I'm learning. I'll be sure to let you know what I've done.

Matt_Thor, Hi

I read your post and thought, " Why doesn't he just fir up either Data Storm or FL Stat Scanner, like the rest of us?"

Oh well, what the hell, here's the info. Available at 2 places. Kyoto base, in Chugoku, and Dragon's HQ, in Adromeda (Far Sector).

i've been playing in MP on my home lan, BUG FREE!!!

I get an error that Tie Universe "won't properly activate" whenever I try to activate this mod. I've installed SDK1.3 at least ten times. Do I need to see a "Freelancer SDK" folder under FL? I just see a new data folder within Data. What's going on? Is this evern SDK related?

How about an update Silvik
How Close are you?

Reagan64,,,,
You shouldn't see any kind of new folder. The sdk file replaces data/ini files in data and its subdirectories. The path it should be aimed at is /freelancer/data. All of the variations work the same way including the new open 1.5.

Edit: I don't load game to the default
If you loaded freelancer to the default dir the path is::
c:\program files\microsoft games\freelancer\data

@Silvik

Hay on the Battleship encounters put an option on the mod to have them or not to have them that way people with high end computers can have the encounters while the low end computer user can still play the game without the encounters.

What do you think?
