Hi all (and especially Server Admins),
I noticed that ppl will be kicked from the server with the reason "Possible cheat detected"; but there is no cheat (I'm sure cause it happened also to me)
One place where this happens is Battleship Missouri, NY.

Are there other ppl experiencing this problem or is it simply a known bug that will be fixed for next release.

Thanks for any help on this subject.

@Mace: Is it possible to include the function that chars will also be saved before undocking a base (not only before docking a base) ?? Thanks a lot.

Sorry Ripper, i'm not really sure what you mean. The "possible cheating detected" error, is it from flserver or Ioncross Server Operater? There are a few factions that have names too long for Ioncross, so their hash codes didn't work and some long range goods too. I think they were Federal though, its in the IFSO readme with the FS data files. There is a limit to 90 unmounted equipment, you're not getting close to that are you? Other than that, it could be that some of the weapons are mountable on to several hardpoints and Ioncross thinks that they shouldn't be. Have a look through the Ioncross options and see if there is the autoban. Hopefully you can adjust what kicks and what dosen't.
I do plan to stick with it. All i need to do is just get on with it and in no time the next release will be ready.

The "possible cheating detected" error is coming from flserver.exe cause I have first disabled the auto-bans from IONCROSS, then even closed IONCROSS but I still have been kicked from the server with the cheat detect message.

Could it be cause i have installed the official flpatch??

That is quite likely, i haven't installed the official 1.1 patch, so it could be that. Did you mount a heavy stunpulse/stunpulse wepon on your CD or a missile on the CD? It might be that..

sorry to say that i came in today to a dead erever, no lights no fan noise(you'd know if you heard it)- i tried to power it up but no joy -i pulled all power counted to twenty and powered on- The radion 9800pro lit up very brightly at the rear and took up smoking, just before i got the power cord out it went bang. atm its V.smelly and when i clear the tears from my eye's i'll see whats left of my 3.6ghz ht .......ex-server ,Bert and Ernie were in there at the time of the Blast (BooHoo)they were my prized memory sticks and i'm praying for them now...Back ASAP

@Mace: Ok, then I will reinstall Freelancer tomorrow on the server without the FLPatch. Let's hope that it will work then :-)
For the other thing that chars should be saved when entering and when leaving a base... In the epsilon mod, they managed that chars are saved when entering a new system, entering a base and leaving a base.

@Porlw: I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can be back online shortly. :-( (My last server burned also down due to a fire in my parents house... I know that bad feeling)

@Ripper, i had not heard of that (about the Epsilon). I'm not sure where i could get hold of that, i might try mailing them or something.

Ok, now questions..
01. Is Frontierspace's difficulty ok? Is it too easy, too hard or ok (at least for now)?
02. For those who have finished the quest (please don't reveal too much), was it any good? I know its a bit limited, does the quest need changes? Are the unique quest ships any good?
03. I've had comments that the Cygnus cluster is pretty lame, i know its pretty empty and colourfull. Does it need a makeover for the next version?
04. If anyone has spent time in Wolf-359, how is that system? Its one of the most important systems in the game. Is it balanced ok, or does it need more control over the npc spawns?
05. Sorry, an old question, are people able to join servers ok with the current files? I was having trouble with the server reading my new_char files instead.

Mace,

In my opinion, Wolf-359 is one of the better 'new' systems in FrontierSpace. I've spent quite a bit of time in that system....use it as a 'base of operations' when I am in Federation space and to me, it's perfectly balanced. The NPC spawns are perfect. Not too many to make it insane and not too few to make it boring. Overall, one of my favorite systems.

Aside from that, flying through those asteroid fields is great for your piloting skills

@Mace: They don't answer on mails. If you have MSN then try with that to contact them. Ask Harrier about the char saving thing; he will surely help you. Normally he is also very active in the TLR forums, you can check some editing help boards; probably you can also get help there.

@Server Admins: Does anybody knows how the FLShell templates are build up? I wanted to make some custom templates for the players on my server. Thanks for any help or hint...

(not being funny), but thats what i haves asked about 4 times now. I had trouble joining the funfunfun server and got that error too. Other people are on the servers (i've looked on the global list) so it is do-able.
Even though i have deleted the multiplayer accounts of the server i had been running it still looked into my new_character.ini file and saw that it wasn't the same as the server and showed the error.
If you haven't deleted/moved the multiplayer accounts from your saved games before joining then give that one a whirl. Other than that, its a puzzler.
