Phoenix Mod Announcement
The Phoenix mod team is currently developing a Freelancer Total Conversion, The Phoenix Mod. For this we have constructed a new site,

Amongst others it will feature a totally new starmap with 35+ systems.
Features
-New starmap, only 1 old system recycled (unknown system)
-35+ new systems
-Multiplayer racetrack consisting of several systems. Special racing equipment will be sold at a base in the start/finish system.
-"empty"unknown system modified, now has The Osiris as base, nomad fleets (consisting of 1 battleship, 6 gunboats and 6 fighters)
and Order patrols consisting of 6 heavily armed Anubis class fighters.
-Player starts on battleship where player can choose between a fighter and a freighter to start with and if he is in a clan can get a bribe for one of the 4 clans.
-Central Clan System for clan battles and access to the specific clan systems
-Each clan has a system of their own and clanspecific equipment
-Each clan has 2 factions, military and trade. Military faction is hostile with other clans and non-clanmembers. Trade faction is neutral with everyone else and owns the bases in clansystems zo people can buy their equipment if they invade.
-Invading won't be easy, battleship encounters from military clan factions in clan systems.
-Many new commodities, among which passengers that you can transport to all systems. The more systems you take them through, the more money you make on them.
-Prisoners and Slaves as commodities
-15 New Thrusters. Each thrusters has specific pros and cons. With 4 categories: Normal, Sprint, Endurance and Special
-27 new powerplants, each with it's own pros and cons.
-Many new weapons to deal with the various new threats.
-Special ships that will be sold with new engines, with pros and cons.
-Many new ships next to the regular freelancer ships
-You can now upgrade your ship's hull.
-New factions that are recognisable by clothes, surroundings and ships.
-Pilots can eject, you can tractor in their escape pods and sell them to their enemies.
