A prequel to Freelancer, a sequel to StarLancer!

I haven't played StarLancer before, but it sounds kinda cool lol! I have a proposal for you:

Is there anybody out there who would like to help me create a total conversion mod for Freelancer (sorry StarLancers) to fit before Freelancer and after StarLancer?

As far as I am aware, Freelancer is much easier to Mod, and therefore all you die hard StarLancer fans would have to abandon the good old joystick and move to the more conventional mouse and keyboard. Although there is a mod out there somewhere that lets you map the joystick controls to those of the mouse and keyboard, I think.

Details:-
> [uBits between the end of StarLancer and the escape from Sol[/u
>> End of the war as we know it
>> The escape from Sol (could even include an option to assist the piloting (or even pilot) one of the sleeper ships)
>> If it includes the previous option, choose to pilot the Hispania, Bretonia, Liberty, Kusari, or Rheinland.

> [uBits before Freelancer started[/u
>> The colonization of Sirius
>> The early expansion of the Houses into their systems
>> The expansion into the Border Worlds
>> The invention of Trade Lanes and Jump Gates
>> Something I've always wanted to do - The 80-years War between Rheinland and the GMG, particularly the battle of the Yanagi Cloud!
>> Anything else I can't think of right now lol.

I know it sounds ambitious but there's a huge gap left in the middle of the two games that is begging to be filled, or even partially filled!

For the systems, use Freelancer Explorer

For the ships (if you're gonna bother) use Milkshape 3D

For the factions, use the factions tutorial and Bini or BiniQDU, but I think the new FLE features something along the faction lines

For music I'd stick to the bog standards.

When editting all the systems with FLE, make them so that there are no jump gates or trade lanes whatsoever, as I think that's what you'd like for this.

I wanted to do something like this, but couldn't be bothered to start it!

Oh yeah, for the sleeper ships, put the cruise speed up a lot, then when they get to a certain place, like an invisible waypoint or something, set it so that the game switches from Sol to Sirius. You could try and make a cut-scene I suppose.

Thanks CSV , at least somebody is interested lol.

I like the idea of a cutscene but don't know how to do them, so if any intrepid Modders have a clue how to do this, then let me know!

Look. I'm going to be really frank here, so if you're easily offended, please turn away.

I loved FreeLancer. Sure I did. If there is a FL2, I'll probably play that past my bed-time as well. I did a MOD. I did the taste-test. I know (generally) how MODing works, and I know the bits and pieces, but I gave that up months ago. If your REAL nice I might help out with stuff, but I'm pretty busy, and my contributions will most likely be minimal. Thanks for the offer, though, Cardamine. I really do appreciate it.

cheers for the input guys, and I hope that whatever suggestions/help you give me will be put to good use! I have only done basic modding with editting systems, ships, etc. from other MODs to practice, but I thought I'd aim higher and crack what I've always wanted filling!
