FIGHTSPACE

Here you can announce your own Freelancer MOD and find information about the different available packages!

FIGHTSPACE

Well the mod is already out so this is not an announcement, but you can post any bug reports, complaints or flames here. All credit for the ships goes to Wanderer and Firbase and Wassup and some of the turret work is Redeye's. All that stuff is perfect so don't complain about it. All the coding was done by ME, Glock36. So all complaints about bugs and balance and pricing and losing your character when you buy a Wraith without reading the instructions first should be addressed to me cause those are MY mistakes either by mistake or on purpose because I am a devious person.

Thank You. Glock 36.

I can´t play with the mod,i´ve install it with FLMM1.2.1 on two computers but when i start a server and will create a new character, freelancer tells me a user with this name is already present,i can write any name the massage is always the same or both computer will be crash....

For info,i use some other mods too,TNG1.60 or ReBalance2.01 with FLMM1.2.1 and there works fine !!!

Played it last night for 30 mins or so, got the grey ship that looks like a slipstream from FireBase, sells for $27m ish. Looks really good so far, couple of glitches, will make a list in the fullness of time.

Can’t wait to get my hands on some of the cap ships.

Good work guys.

ps, I did have to place the folders into FLMM v1.2.1 manually, not just ‘install’, is this normal?

Steele: i'd suggest an uninstall and reinstall of freelancer unless you have WinXP in which case the problem may be an incompatibility with WinXp.

And the problem with FLMod manager is NOT normal. give me some details about your system and what other mods you might be loading and unloading.

And remember, if you use any other mods but this one, I cannot guarantee that the whole thing will work.

i've just downloaded flightspace
i run xp and dont have problems with mods
is there a problem with this mod and xp
if so can it be fixed

love ya ideas
ever thought of making battle ships more interactive
(people can dock with you and trade , hire fighters to defend, freighters to collect trade).
doking problems for battleships
can be fixed by only being able to dock with plants.

what about owning ya own stations?
are any of these ideas possible?

Seems to be problems with Win XP Home, but some people have them and some dont.

Hello all
As with all the mods I post I tested the FightSpace mod and it runs fine on my test system. I am using Windows XP professional but I also have computers hooked up to my home local area network that run on Windows XP home edition and the FightSpace mod runs fine when we play multiplayer on the lan.

If you have been using mods especially mods that add dll files to the Freelancer exe folder read the following.

If you have had problems with mods crashing try the Tools\Restore Backups in the Freelancer Mod Manager. If it is still crashing you need to uninstall Freelancer then reinstall. Deactivate any mods that are active in the mod manager first. Check to make sure that the Freelancer Folder was deleated by the uninstall routine. The default location for Freelancer is:
My Computer \ C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Games \ Freelancer.

I have been, fortunately, getting a lot of requests about where people can find servers running FightSpace. I have gotten several questions from server operators but only one of them 24/7 Prometheus told me the name of their server. If you are running FightSpace on a server, please drop me an email and tell me the name of your server and also post it here. People are looking for you.

Also an addition to what Baked Potato said, If you still have trouble try this in EXACTLY this order:
1. Uninstall FLMM, then download the 1.2 beta of FLMM
2. Uninstall Freelancer.
3. Reinstall Freelancer.
4. Install the FLMM 1.2 Beta

Don't even ask me why this works but it works for me when all else fails. It works even if you don't use the 1.2 Beta but I am using it and am having no problems with it.

I think the mod needs some balance attention so the npc’s have at least a very tiny chance of scratching the paintwork on the cap ships.

Other than that, the balistner is close to the best fun that you can have in Freelancer, as long as you don’t mind getting stuck in tradelanes, bases and asteroid fields.

p.s. Avoid hitting anything close to you with main guns.

I finally tried out version 1.0 (there is no download for the update). Some things I noticed that didn't seem right:

1) The nomad capital ships are uncontrollable
2) The nomad thruster can be mounted on any ship giving it 800+ speed per thruster(you can keep the thrusters when you sell the nomad cap ship)
3) When setting a nav path that goes out of the system it crashed the server(had the dark spectre ship with a couple nomad items mounted)

Then I just had a question as to why in the world is everything level 10? These are the things I noticed in the about 15 minutes I played it. I will mess with it some more later.

ps @ glock - I haven't been online lately cuz the yahoo medium in trillian doesn't work at the moment(see their site) so I you will have to email me to get in touch for now.

All that and more is going to be fixed in the upcoming release of "FleetWars". And thanks for your help and also thanks for the update to the Freelacer SDK.

Fleetwars will:

Feature a working navmap that does not crash the game.
have DLL's that say what they were meant to say.
Retain the popular feature of incompatibility with Windows XP Home.
Remove the good trade routes and make the good ships almost impossible to get due to demand by the fans.
Add some new ships that will totally blow your mind. These ships have never been seen before and you will not believe them. I didn't myself, but they are in the beta and work.
