3D stereo no lights mod

This mod turns off all the ship board headlights , dockingLights, runing lights and space station lights in Freelancer. Whats the point in that??? Well, I play freelancer using a pair of edimensional 3d glasses and the glow from these lights appears on the screen positioned directly on the screen and not on the ship (those who have seen freelancer in 3d will know what i mean) . This is very confusing and if the lights displayed are large enough makes it hard to focus on the action. So this mod simply turns off all the lights, both on the piloted ships and on all the other objects.

To Install
__________

I developed this mod Using Freelancer ModManger 1.2 Beta, it should also work with v 1.1.

I couldn't put the link on when i first did the post because i had trouble submiting the file to the download section. However its now here download.

I'm sure its not going to be used by many people but, if only one person uses it at least i've svaed someone some hassle, and as a new modder weve all got to start small don't we?

Hey, thanks for the mod, I have edimensional glasses, too. I've used them mostly for picture viewing and what-not. How did you get the glasses to work with FL? I have the drivers installed (geforce2ti) and I can get the game to display in 3d, but all of the HUD menues and the targeting cursor are hopelessly confused.
thanks

Hi,
Getting the glasses working properly is just a metter of making sure all the drivers installed correctly and then adjusting the various separation and convergence settings. It took me about 2 days to get all the drivers properly installed, a few hours mucking around with the settings, then a few days to train my eyes to focus on the right bits. So be patient, try changing resolutions (i found lower resolution easier for my eyes whilst getting accustomed to the glasses).

It sometimes help to know what your supposed to see, so the HUD frames appear behind the text, so dont expect to be able to focus on one item and expect the whole think to be in focus.

I had contemplated producing a mod to make HUD viewing easier, but it wouldn't be an easy change to make.

Hope this helps
Zeno

Thanks, I've fiddled with it a bit. Still funny looking, but I'll keep at it
