1.4 FLREB Ouestions possible spoilers

I found the jumpgate to Omicron Omega.
Everytime I go there the server crashes. When it restarts it runs okay for a while.
At the dyson sphere, there is no nav map. Kinda easy to get lost there.

Yup. Same on the ** uk REBLANC'ed server **. Real shame too.

One other point for Mr Dan if you're listening, I'm in a clan that has Omicron Gamma as it's homeworld. The number and scale of encounters, which whilst beautiful at first, are now a right royal pain in the butt. In the last week, clocking up around 15 hours playtime, i can recall perhaps 5 cumulative minutes of peace. The other times the space outside crete was crammed full with Hessians, GMG and Corsair BS's, and about 50 other assorted vehicles.

Slow down for all players, the server, and although i have no specific evidence, i believe has been the reason for several server crashes.

It's a stunning mod Michael, can we tune down the encounters somewhat. One every couple of days or so would be just grand.

Yes. I would recommend reducing the size and respawn of capital ship groups to ease lag and general chugginess problems experienced even on the beefiest of comps. Hell I had teh distinct pleasure of watching a battle unfold between Kusari, Rhienland, and Liberty capital ships..... at 1 fps......

There were TWO Rhienland dreadnoughts present at the same time, that by itself was a FPS killer, plus the 6 destroyers, multitudes of gunships and escort fighters that came along. And thats just the Rheinlanders (Red Hessians), the Kusari GMG ships came in just as strong.

Tone it down or just remove it.... please.

Ya... in my experience with crating BS encounters you could feasibly only have two houses engaged at once. one bs per house with 2 cruisers and 3 gunboats and one wing of 3-5 fighter secorts was max for each battle group. any more and teh server implodes.

Speaking of BS encounters, during the SP campaign, I find that I have to tip toe around Kusari space bacause I keep running into HOSTILE Rheinland fleets. I can't even attack them without making the Kusaris mad at me. And if the Kusaris attack, the local port becomes hostile for the duration. And these encounters tend to happen around important posts like New Tokyo.

- the First Evil

First Evil,

One of the reasons this happens is because when you first go to Kusari space almost all the "locals" are neutral and "feed" off the encounter with the Rhinelander’s, trick is to leave the system as soon as possible when this happens - via a jump gate or better yet via a jumphole, as jumpholes don't try to ping you as you go through. All will be well when you return. However I agree - having 6 or more Valkyrie's plus gunboats, cruisers and battleships to contend with is a bit much - it would surprise me if the local "Authorities" didn't take a dim view of it. Not that they could do much about it - seems to be a lack of capital ships in Kusari. Better yet the local criminals- given their attitude - would be inclined to do something about it. Take the Blood Dragons for instance - it is all very well to hate the police\military\house corporations etc., "national pride" would be at stake, and a foreign power appearing in "their " space would, I think be like a red rag to a bull. It also appears to be a tactical error - why would the Rheinlander's show their hand until they were ready to invade.

If these encounters are necessary they should be restricted to small "strike forces" as large encounters full of lots of ships tend to "bog" the video display so it becomes "notchy" - some is fine - too many ships is too much. The game was meant to be fun - not frustrating - because your video display can't keep up.

Developers take note - not everybody has the latest Cray Supercomputer!

Harrier.

i do agree with all of u guys, the time of respawn these fleets should be lowered so the comp's don't lagg the game. it's just awfull !!! i can't play normally , just get the hell out of there not 'cause i'm scared of them but to stop laggin'.

First Evil; if you're really that fussed by the problems you're having in Kusari, the easiest way to stop them occurring is to finish the campaign.

The problems in Omircron space are caused by too much density settings near the main planets and bases, and also i've increased max battle size. i'll return to original in next release 1.6d, since 1.6b is already out. I did not tracked down the origin of omicron gamma crashes but it could be some messed up encounters. i hope i can dig out the bug till next version...
