Frost-Works - Freelancer: Star Trek Total Conversion!

StarTrek : Total Conversion AKA ST:TC


The Goal of this mod is to completley convert the Freelancer Multiplayer universe into a fully playable Star Trek Universe.


the 4 playable races will be

Liberty >> Federation
Rhienland >> Klingon
Kusari >> Romulan
Britonians >> Cardassians
New Race BORG (top level race see below)
Ferengi Maruaders (pirates)
+ other pirate factions


Pirate Factions for each main faction, the names of which are still being decided up - be sure to post your ideas.



there will be other races in other systems including:


Ferengi Pirates - Similar to junkers and other pirates of the FL universe.

Borg Space (ultra high level area - you dont want to go in here alone!)

TTM (The True Marqui) a new group of the most elite Marqui, with new technology and a new sponsor (the dominion). They hate the federation.

RFR Romulan Freedom Rebels - A group of extreme romulans that do not like the idea of the romulans allying themselves with anyone!

KLR - Klingon Last Right - An assasin group of warriors that are a bit unatuhoradox. They kill anyone, and everyone, they are paid to kill.


-other changes-

All the systems will be renamed, all planets will be renamed, all jumpgates and existing sytems will be made use of.


Multiple Warp Drives included ranging from Warp 5 , Warp 7, Warp 9 and Warp 9.9 + NPC engine for 8472, to provide for exciting warp chases.

A multitude of weapons including numerous beam, Pulse, Missile (including photons and quantum) + others.

New special items such as cloacking devices and transwarp drives will be in game.

New, trek, comodoties will exist in game be sure to post your ideas here for trek comodoties.

All ships will be capeable of warp.

Tradelanes have been removed.

All UI sounds will be replaced.

A new UI using 0LCARS interface will be present.

Music in all areas of the universe will be replaced, but will only be included as an option extra due to the size addition in MB's.


THE BORG

The Borg may well be playable - however! This is not for the faint of heart.

First you will have to gain the top level in the game, this is no easy task! This will take a great deal of time (but should also be alot of fun!) Once you haev attained ultimate power in your race you must, to appease to borg, attack every major race (including your own) to gain sufficient standing with the Borg to be allowed to enter their space. Once you have done this, and are in good enough aligment you may submit yourself for assimilation at a borg station where your current ship will be assimilated and you will be able to purchase a borg ship of your choseing.

Being a borg mean EVERYONE in the universe will hate you - forever. However you will have acces to the most powerfull ships, unless you happen to drop by 8472 ofcourse :-) but thats another story.

GOAL FOR FIRST RELEASE OF ST:TC

V1.0

Renaming of all systems, planets and factions.

Changing of Liberty>>Federation
Changing of Rhinland>>Klingon
Changing of Kusari>>Romulan
Changing of Britonina>>Cardassian

Addition of new races and encounters

Bringing in of atleast X amount new playable ships fo each race

Feds - E.G. Fed runabout, Galaxy Class, Intrepid Class.
Romulan - E.G. Gladiator(thu11s), Warbird, Science ship
Klingon - E.G. Small B-O-P, K'Tinga Battlecruiser, Vor'Cha
Cardassian>> E.G. Todaki, Cargotransport, Galor,

Phasers
photon torpdoes
quantum torpedoes
+ equivelent for all other factions.

We will also attempt to include as much of what was stated up as possible.

The models for the new ships are top of the range, crem de la crem, models created by the comunities best artists.

I'm a firm believer that the more options open for differing gamestyles
the more playable and greater the playerbase will get...
I mean how many people bought Half-Life only to be able to play
Counter-Strike...(I'll hold up my hand) - Thats one I'm sure there are more.
"Modifications For Every Eventuality" - This seems to be summing
you lads up at the moment, as far as Freelancer is concerned.
Impressive armoury of ideas being put in place by dedicated people.
You have my utmost respect for your achievments so far...

thanks for your support :-) theres been plenty of talk at our forums, sorry i havnt messaged in here. The mod progress is going well , hope to have a site up soon for you guys :-)

What scale are you going to use for the ships?..

How fast will a small shuttle fly compared to,say Excelsior or galaxy class star ship?..

what about borg cube?

hehe well some of these questions have been brought up in our forums, but i will answer a couple here....

shuttles well - impulse is a universal speed that all ships can do, its pretty simple for most ships to travel at impulse so all ships (excelsiors included) will be travel at the same impulse speeds...

however fast this will be in game - we havnt decided.

but the idea is that certain ships have WARP and certain ships dont...you may think "wait a minute, thats means some ships dont have CRUISE" thats true- they wont, but the standards speed of ships willb e sufficiently pepped up (full impulse is supposidly 80% of lights speed)

the gates will still be important because in many cases they are and will be the quickest form of travel to many places, until u start getting warp capable ships

we are hoping we can set it to systems can be damaged, again defining the need for the gates

star trek ships reminds me nothing but frying pan, but frying pan with warp drive and laser batteries thats something

haha thats true for some - but there have been some crazy designs lateley...btw we are including not only the Federation Fry Pans ;-) but the Romulans, Klingons , Borg, Ferengi and a bunch of other ships and races too

yeah fed. starships suck, kardasian (dont know the correct name) are nicer and i like these organic ships spieces# (i forgot).

aaaa Cardassian ships are in, infact there one of the major playable races :-)

species 8472, people seem to want those in ... i will just say wait and see :-)

Im really excited about your mod! It sounds really cool. Just some questions:

1. Approx release date?

2. Will there be transporters? ie. instead of docking with a Space station or Planet, perhaps just beam in?(no docking for BIG player ships)

3. Ya gonna have the Delta Flyer?????????????

4. Can you get lost in the Delta Quadrant?

Its not judgeable at this time :-)

Perhaps, i have not thought too much about this..i am more interested in setting secondary docking areas for bigger ships

The universe will be generaly based in the Alopha and Beta quaderants. however there will be some familar faces from voyager popping in to say hello and then blow you up :-)
