It sounds like your team is being very carefull not to upset the balance of the game.

We sure are trying. We don't want to "change" the game, we just want to make it more expansive.


Nephilim, I would suggest waiting till the mod is released and checking the readme for proper credits if indeed your tutorial was used for adding the capital ship encounters before dropping the sarcasm in. These people have always given credit where it was due.

No harm was done. I know where he is comming from. We to try our best to give credit where it is due. However on this game we have used so many different pieces of tutorials that I can't remember who wrote them. The only one we really used word for word was Nephilim's. For those who I don't know YET: A Very Special Thank You goes out to you and the tutorials you spent time on writing and posting. Be assured that as I find the names of those who wrote the tutorials we used I will add them to the readme file for out mod. Thanks again!

Thanks for the encouragement so far, as Vichama has stated we don't want to upset the game balance.. DA had spent 3 years working on it, so why fix it when its not broken The aim is to open up the FL universe in it's entirity, and make it a more immersive experience. I also plan to make better use of the existing music.

My personal take on this mod came to realisation after i had a chat with P81.. even by taking on an RPG role such as the Outcasts and trying to limit my ship types, it only took me 8 hrs to get to Level 34. Killing low numbers of a certain faction allowed me to get in to good books of way too many factions and get what i wanted way too easily, and by that time the enemy ships no longer posed a threat to me, even in a freighter.

So what i want to do with this mod, is add new challenge to the game and increase it's longetivity.. to REALLY make you work to build up that character instead of getting to where you want to be in a matter of hours.. because after that, whats left?

The level 2 mod and server are nearing completion and should be open for play VERY soon

the server is now online and running, the mod is up for download. i tested it this mornign for abotu an hour and all seemed to be running well.

I downloaded the mod and have been flying around on both of the official frosty servers... oo pretty capital ships and extra SP only ships, but what else has actually changed so far? I dont see any new RPG rules or multiplyers in effect when i play this mod.. What gives?

Am i doing something wrong or are you guys nowhere near done with it yet?

did u read the rpg rules? did u notice how your relations ships were different allowing u to play by those rules? did u notice the price of everytthing? all this is desinged to help u get "int he mood"

Nice one folks, tis great to see your just tweaking the longevity and adding in a few nice features here and there without completely changing the universe ala this or the other theme. May have to pop onto the server

our goal is to add only. not to cvhange the exsisting game. liek a true expansion. wait till u see what else we hav instore!

New missions sound very cool..( Is that mission types?)
Your mod has so much in it so far. Its very impressive indeed.
Have you got a website that I can go to for updates or do you
do it all through lancersreactor?

Keep up all the good work, we all know its tough but what you
are creating feels like a whole new game.. and I like it as, I'm sure,
everyone else does. Most thorough and best mod in my opinion.
