i like how roll-over drops down a link to the mod/forum, that's one thing the global list doesn't do - you can't even see the MOTD unless you have the correct version so putting a link to a forum or download for the mod is just redundant, yet i see it all over the place.
Strail's right about the isolation of servers and mods - but i think they need to be more accessible so players can find the right server and mod for them without digging through forums for hours and then finding out it's not for them - content be damned, i want convenience. i can evaluate a mod better by logging in and playing than i ever could by reading about it. just a quick way to get on a new mod and server would make it less involved to play/preview more mods.... also a server comment section would be cool, where players could leave reviews or vote on various criteria
and hey a lot of the features we need are already available and just waiting to be exploited, flmm does have a command-line extension for activating mods... you could download with firefox and a plugin could supply the correct modname to the command line activation.. then it could then run the EOA web connect tool and we would (in theory) have a pretty much fool proof mod installer/server connecter (for the Unreal-Tournament-spoiled masses)
don't forget, microsoft hasn't promised to keep the global server up forever - we should be looking at alternative ways of listing servers just in case - seeing as it's inevitable sooner or later, hopefully much later but we should be realistic.
