What is the secret to making mods work in multiplayer?

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

What is the secret to making mods work in multiplayer?

I have gotten some mods to work in multi player. namely TNG, and the Privateer mod. But I cant get Yet Another Shipyard vers.1.04 to work. and 1.05 wont activate. So if anybody could tell me how to make YAS 1.04 work I would apreciate it!!

Using FLMM activate mod, then start FLServer.exe and wait til its up and running - then connect from your machine upon which you wish to play........searching for your server!

If its on other servers.........only specific servers run some mods. you cannot access servers with a mod running unless the server is running it.

I am using my own server, so I need to know how to make the server run the mod. I have no problem when I use flmm for single player but it doesn't do it for multiplayer. why?

If your server is running on the same box that you are launching the client from then it should be running the same mod as the client as they are pulling from the same set of files.
If you are using a 2nd machine for the server then....install FLMM, install and activate the mod, fire up FL server.....connect and play
