Looking for ways to combat cheaters & lag?

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Looking for ways to combat cheaters & lag?

Is your server suffering from attacks by cheaters and/or severe lag at times?

You know, there is a better way. Simply uber mod out your police chars and camp them till they leave.

If your mods are done correctly, they will generate almost 0 lag, and since the modded players cant launch, NO LAG

Belive me, if you camp a modder, he will leave. The more modders you camp the less you will have because they cant kill people.

It works!

Server police is good to have around , agreed. It has worked pretty well for me, but I cant be online all the time nor can the other admins. Apart from that FLAC provides the admins with tools to control the server remotely from inside the game.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eagle's assessment. The admins and server officials/police/deputies are never on enough nor in enough systems to have a thorough player monitoring player scenario, especially on a 24/7 server. Besides fighting fire with fire just leads to bad feelings in my experience, not good, clean fun. Admins and server officials should use power beyond the reach of the cheater or lagger, kicking and/or banning.

I wholy endorse Eagle's FLAC program and stress it is for admins only. Once both admin programs are setup correctly and efficiently, FLAC and IFSO will work well side by side. They do on my server. While there is some overlap in capabilities between the two admin programs, together they provide vital monitoring, editing, tracking and preventative maintenance of flserver, player accounts and the server itself. Both provide essential help in running a server.

So misinformed, so naive. If we left the game completely alone it would be lag free, but that's a pipe dream too isn't everyone?
