Well what your asking is like saying that you want a car, that never runs out of gas, that never needs maintenance, is always warmed up no matter how cold it is outside, and always has three pretty girls in the back seat waiting for you. The best that an Admin can do is offer the fastest computer he can find, put people in place that can monitor the server, and have a good way of reporting cheaters, and rule breakers when you see them.

[MC Freeport 7 has a no PvP rule in Liberty Space, and no PvP within 3K to a dock to prevent dock camping. We have around 10 Server Deputies, that have ban rights to the server, and you can always email me, [email protected] if you have a problem.
Our server I have been told is running very well, it does lag from time to time, but I don't know of any servers that don't. We are currently holding about 2,000 Player Folders, and have no intentions of deleting any of them. The server does go down for Server Events, but anyone can partake in them. Feel free to drop by. What just happened to FP7? I and two of my friends just joined, and I was buying cargo to haul in my Starflier, but the server crashed before I even took off.

my multiplayer server is the great Fiik server, lots of nice people and baddie players, well they're actually nice that is in OOC mode - Out Of Character mode. we have a main forum where players can discuss anything, of course mainly about the server and the game, and we have exclusive forums for the clans, we have scheduled races overseen by the Don himself - big prices to be won in the sound of millions, every now and then we have wars and conflicts and alliances, we have assasins trying to kill their specified targets, we have pirate players killing anyone onsight, we have taxes and tolls, we have roleplaying characters, one of the most famous - the great Jacen Tarek - you can roleplay with him and hunt/kill him (hehehe), we have Great Admins who takes care of us - that is another thing i am personally proud of, headed by the all around great guy himself - Slammer, and lots more.
so if you want to have fun playing multiplayer i would encourage you to try the great Fiik Server and this is a no mods server, we have a sibling server the great Elite server and upcoming is our mod server opening soon.
Fiik is a great Home away from SP.

yep it is awsome, you can fight wars alongside your clanmates playing at different parts fo the world!
and you can hunt down pirates and assins together, and the forums are hot !!!
especailly when war is brewing, and especially when a baddie is around and announcing the players on his hitlist and saying that they are about to become space dust (hehehe).
of course the clans will rally their pilots against this menace and the games begin... the baddie vs the clans.
and there are old attritions left behind the previous wars so every now and then they surface and some players will be around for revenge killing spree targetting a specific clan.
but peace among the clans is always been coveted... but behind that facade they are amassing weapons and credits, honing their skills, recruiting new blood...

...for war is always looming in the horizon...

MC-Freeport 7 is the biggest lag-fest waste of time I have yet seen as a freelancer server.. just thought you should know.

OK, I waited for my "adoring" public to speak but never mind, I will.

* Does not allow cheesy methods of non-consensual PVP (such as gate camping). Odd you would mention gate camping which is a far less prevelant and easier to dodge than dock camping. Dock camping is allowed on my server but with fairness caveats - wait 5 secs after a victim undocks (let's the shields stabilize) and no dock camping for more than a half and hour.

* Has a mechanism for players to report other abusive players (and punishes them appropriately). Server officials, certain trusted oldtimers (I have some oldtimers, the server has been around 10 months!) and lots of checking by me. Abusive players, cheaters, any rule breakers get one final warning before permenant banning.

* Never goes down. I assume you mean besides other than normal reasons (server maintenance, flserver restarts, M$ updates, etc.) and the server is 24/7. My server is 24/7 but has a small problem with an intermittant flserver crash (FLSO restarts flserver quickly) but its frequency has been reduced. Used to be about once a day but seems to be once a week now. That's less frequency than the auto-maintenance which occurs every 48 hrs.

* Never deletes all their player accounts. Hehe! I would think this is a given! No, Boston has never lost all their accounts. We do have auto-maintenance where if you play less than a minute or haven't played in more than 90 days, your character gets deleted. This is to ensure the burden on the FL admin tools and indirectly on the players playing is not too large (currently Boston has 1846 characters with this auto-maintenance in effect - about 40 characters are deleted every 2 days but 60 new characters are created in the same time).

* Never lags. I defy ANY server to not lag when at or near full! Boston lags near full but mostly it's yellow lag.

* Always has a lot of other people to play with. This is the number one reason all players pick the server they want to play the most on. My server now has a good and constant following.

* Always has free player slots. In my opinion you cannot have the above but have free player slots! My server though usually has slots open. Weekend nights EST are the highest activity times though.

Does such a server (or something close to it) exist? I think Boston is close.
