Server Admin Tools badly needed.

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Server Admin Tools badly needed.

Hey Guys,

This is Anderson from Alpha Server 24/7, I'm tired of looking through the accounts list and banning every lame ass cheater... usualy 20 a night or so.

There has to be an easier way of doing this, I've tryed 2 account programs so far, one is basicaly just a window with no way to input commands that I can figure out and the other looks more promising but really all I want is simple access to a /ban <nick> command. Or even a program that detects cheaters and auto bans them for me.. that would praticaly cut matinence to a zero.

if your using fladmin, then you can use a program such as kev term to get remote access, and use the command`s, "search", "searchban" as well as "list online", "and banonline", very usefull, and you dont have to go thru the accounts manualy, which can take a while, theres a mystery program you also want to keep your eyes out for, called fl account browser, i heard rocks, (tho it may be a myth).

Server,
Hehe! FLAccount browser does indeed rock but I think the author AkaTaka is afk. It can view every character's money, time and level plus ban and delete characters. I was in the beta but can't pass it around because 1) he hasn't said I can, 2) it requires a user unique username/password to log in with and 3) it needs his server to log in and (I think) decode/encode the FL saved game files but unfortunently that server is down. He even has another program that tells you who was logged in called FLConnection monitor and when linked to the FLAccount browser data file (accounts.xml) can even tell you which character logged in! Unfortunently only the FLConnection monitor is available.

As for FLAdmin I've never had to remotely use it as I don't have enough players, yet!

So to those many other people that program FL stuff, here's the challenge! A full character info display that can be listed in any order (i.e. by guns, money amounts, time played, shield type, etc.) Editing capability is a bonus.

back to being a myth again lol,. fl conect mon, yeah i saw it, needs ms frames aparently,. unfortunatly i had a prob half way thru the frames install, so it aint on the pute, and the update page wont load it cos it thinks i have it already, cant afford the down time to re`reinstall windows, players would complain,. lol. so what ever conect mon does is a mystry 2

Hey Tad,

I might be able to facilitate auto banning of cheaters, but I'd need some criteria. Just looking at character files, how would I know they're cheaters?

Let me know what you've got and I may find a way to implement it!

Version 3 of the IONCROSS Freelancer Character Editor is done. I've submitted it to TLR, but until it shows up here, you can get it from WWW.IONCROSS.COM. This one lets you ban players.

JoeBoomz!
All I can say is great program your editor! It's quick and while the editor part is a bonus (for my server) it can ban and see info about them. I have one tiny, tiny request. My server is small so it isn't too much to search through the character names for someone but could you place them in alphabetical order at least? For those servers that have thousands, not hundreds of players, that list is long that looking through it all for one character would take a while.

I would have posted this on your website but I don't trust logging into M$'s Passport!
