Well, the tourney went off without a hitch. Effectively zero lag while we were dueling. It's amazing how little lag you get when no one is moving.

Door-prizes were awarded to Stromm (pr of blue blazes), Ace (500k), Privateer_Rig_rover (pr of Dbax) and LBManiac (ripper launcher).

It was an absolute blast, and I'm a little dissapointed that the Elite server drop-ins didn't make it, but cest la vie. It would have been fun - the more the merrier. If they are reading, please feel free to drop in next time.

Anyway, I'm too biased to give a run down on the events (since I competed), but suffice it to say that a good time was had by all. I may be hosting one again next saturday. Need some input: Did everyone feel the time was okay? Should it have been later? Earlier?

Thnx

Thats it I am afraid. These are not just some of the finest people to play the game, they are the finest. You've caused nothing but trouble since you've gotten here. I have no choice.

It goes against my morals to ban people who didn't cheat, but you did something worse in the end. You almost destroyed our unity of friendship. Those above are gone, do not return.

Cleaver, your last post on the USB forum under the merger thread is what promted this. Choose your words more carefully against the players of a server.

This server is not mine, its ours, it belongs to all of us, and the general opinion is you had to go. That is the way it has to be.

That is all. Good day.

When children get out of hand, there must be discipline of some kind. Some children find they can play sort of a private game, one that involves making others miserable while they, and perhaps a few like-minded albeit witless friends, tag along. When this happens, it is best to remove those children from the playground and let them play elsewhere.

This is, after all, a game. If 10% are having fun, and 90% are not having fun as a direct result of the 10%, then by god the 10% can go somewhere else and be miserable (inside themselves, of course). This may be too deep for some people, sadly it is those people that need to realize it the most.

Meiyo_Chie, I applaud you.

We got on your server, we got flamed by everyone, got sick and tired of some of your members sick plotting (NEO can confirm this) and fought back and owned your noob server, if noob is an insulting term heck you are a pretty sensitive person to me, we were the ones insulted when you banned ppl from our group with fake allegations of cheating and your little friends speed hacked for the wide world to see (Neo can confirm this also) just to mention one situation, there were lots others.

using the same comment i did on the USB boards

"Heh, you did me a great favour meo chie, tks for wiping out the rebel faction of my clan, i dont care about your server, i did all the business i needed to do on it yesterday, we are settled on several servers you know

Anyway, in the name of sportmanship i wish you luck with browclops and hope that logitech leaves you alone with his hack atacks on the future

Have a nice day "

Next time teach your "browclops family" to be more respectfull with outsiders otherwize they might get a lot more bloody noses and you will have a lot more to ban

I find it laughable when I hear you say crap like this, this was the second conflict in as many days, you start a war then hide the entire time in Omega 11 when the odds were more even, then later when the tourney is over and almost everyone has logged out you return with your cronnies to mount another assault, there were only 5 people in the group opposing your's, I couldn't participate because I had deleted my characters in protest of your presence on the server earlier that day.
You are a stereotype Bully, a hero when you have a numerical advantage but an entirely different lesser creature in a fair fight. I'm surprised and disappointed that NEO would lower themselves to helping someone as despicable as you.
You demand respect, but to get respect you have to give respect, and
you chose not to, you were belligerent and offensive from the instant you appeared on the server. Browclopsia is a community of friends, two concepts you obviously don't understand.
I can walk away from this because I have friends and I have a life, whereas you clearly have nothing but this game.

You have a childish need to have the last word, so be it, I can but hope that others will see the truth in this regardless of what you may say.

Well I try to stay impartial in matters like this, but to be honest, none of your OWLs has ever fought a battle on the server and won without a gangbang to my knowledge. The NEO's did, but they were not banned. There is a message there somewhere.. Talk the talk, and walk the walk. It wasn't the 'walk' that created the problem.

Don't blur the lines between NEO and OWL. NEO is skilled and respected. OWL is not nearly as skilled; I tend to think of them as cheap kills, personally. And implications that I'm the only good pilot on the server are untrue. I didn't learn my skills dueling noobs in NY. I learned them from battling a host of other skilled warriors on the server, none of whom you ever had a chance to meet in an even situation, since you were only around for 3 hours, tops, as a hostile. Browclopsia didn't organize over ICQ/MSN to bring our best members out at once as OWL did. If they had, it would have been like a comedy routine. The best OWL dueler I would place in the top 15 on the server, maybe.. As much as I like you guys, I won't stain the rep of the other browclopsians (who hand me my ass on a regular basis) to say otherwise.

That wasn't a flame, it was brutal honesty. NEO has earned their bragging rights, but OWL has ,as of yet, not. Keep training your people, and stay humble and conscious of your limitations, and someday you will. Let's keep the brags on a psuedo-realistic level, shall we?

PS: Stalker wasn't even close to using a speed cheat. It was lag that was making him skip around. Every experienced pilot should be able to spot the difference in a heartbeat. I know I can. When a guy tears off to 4k distance, but then 'pops' back in at 500 meters you know it isn't a cheat, since speed cheats maintain a constant speed. Put some time in on the Calgary server in the NY system, it'll make you a pro at spotting real cheats. Again, that's not a flame, it's a healthy tip.

A tribute to Mukrakr:

A legend, Muk managed to make it to lvl 70 in about a week, and no player in the know could deny it was perfectly legit. Recently, he found he won't be able to play the game as much and thus gave his money away to Dame (who I am sure will use it well). He mentioned we may see him at tourney's and for duels, and I sincerely hope so. He has proved in a short time to be a hell of a nice guy, and the kind of player we value most on Browclopsia. Mukrakr: This bud's for you!

I was going to post something serious. But I think I'm gonna sleep on it and post tomorow instead. Life is too important to be taken seriously. Sigh!

Oops. Above in my post I said 'best members' when I meant 'best duelers'. The best duelers are not necessarily the most valued in the brow community. Such is the way of the monkeys. I felt that was worth pointing out.

OMG I missed that one. See what happens when you get serious see see.

Just picture it: ...then the prefered Browclops snack threatened to whip out his best... ...Meiyo used Cleaver to sever all ties with OWL... ...but the good doctor didn't seem encline to re-attach anything...

This is long in the coming, short in the manner it needs to come, and not quite adequate. I will be skipping around a bit, so you need to bear with it.

I am a n00b, when it comes to clans. I have NO idea how to successfully differentiate between personal agenda and legitimate clan business. As soon as I thought I got a handle on it, I realized I could not set aside my personal prejudice against an arsehole like cleaver to see the better good for the guild. I reisgned my position in Allied Exports as the Guild Executive Officer to go pursue something personal, as I thought that best for the Guild. The Guild crumbled in that moment, and now nothing remains. The efforts to reconstitute it far outweigh the potential benefit.

Continuing that thought, I went to Elite. I went there with, originally, one goal in mind. I went to see NO in action, and to learn from the best. I had rarely seen the people I considered to be "dueling" mentors in a while, knowing the real life happened. I have heard, and seen, that even the trainee (FF) NEO members are far better at dueling than I am and that I have a loooooooooong way to go. Not that it matters, but the minute I lasted against Vortex was probably more him toying with me than actual skill on my part. When I heard that OWL moved to Browclopsia, I did post requesting intel on them, and I did ask for assistance - I didn't know what else to do, and I was trying to think of the better good for the community.

Relating to the above topics, I got WAY out of line with flamefesting FooGoo/Extractor, and he is right - I don't totally understand what is going on in Role Playing. Then the same pattern repeated itself with Cleaver. I found LBManiac to be the voice of reason, and his boss Cleaver to be a mental case looking for some Prozac - which was quite possibly the opinion that many Brow players held of me. After all was said and done, I decided to join OWL as Punisher and assist LBManiac in his fight against Cleaver, only to learn that the people involved were banned.

All said, I need to freelance it. I need to play alone, unaffiliated with anyone except for the community I respect. I won't be in any Clans or Guilds or anything like that. I am gonna do what I did best, make credits, run guns and cardamine, practice some dueling in 2 or 3 different ships, and get back to the core of the game, if that is even possible.

Now, the hard part. I wronged SO many people in SO many ways. I did things, that in retrospect, I am not very proud of, and may be responsible for a core member leaving the community on a permanent basis. A lot of the trouble lately has been a result of my poor decisions, heated temper, and insistence on having to be right. To all true (and recently adopted) Browclopsians, simian or human, I sincerely apologize. I don't know that I can make it right, I know that I have a long row to hoe to make it even begin to turn-around, but I am gonna try.

I really do hope that I can repair some of the damage I have caused to the relationships here, and that I can attempt to make things right.

Justinian

For some reason I'm getting the permanent "connecting to global server" message. Anybody else getting this? I've been relegated to playing single player.
