I apologize to everyone for not getting an updated version out to everyone.

It is nearly ready, but I have been so very swamped with real-life work that remaining bug fixes have fallen behind.

A first beta was sent out, and a new build is close to ready. If my laptop screen hadn't died, I would have had it out this last weekend. With any luck, a new build will be ready this weekend, and I will broaden the testing scope.

This application is really a beautiful thing folks. I have come to really depend on it!

Between the FL account browser / FLadmin, also now basic cheat protection, maybe finally online FL can safely take off.

So keep up the good work.

I have tried everything I can to break it...But, I haven't been able to break it. lol

Akataka does good work. Only errors I have gotten are when I had corrupt characters that I forgot to delete from a test I was running

Thanks for the great feedback (and compliments *blush*). I'm glad it has worked well for those who have tested it so far.

Update to all those not on the beta right now. An RC1 build was released to many people this Sunday, and a public release will be available to the world later this week.

Just a few more fixes/minor additions in version 1 (then a rest, and on to version 2).

any chance it will have remote access? I ask cause the main admin on the server I admin on, isn't always around and banning would be easier if I could see who's using different names to get around remote nick bans.

Akataka, I agree with Argonus. I have had only about a week with the account browser as I was on a long vacation but using it is a blast! Was able to easily find some money hacks, like someone called fireflame who had $121 million in 5 mins of gametime! Was a little apprehensive in the software connecting to another server (akataka's) but remembered you mentioned that in previous announcements. It is keeping all the decrypting work out of the downloaded browser program and doing it on your server. As for you, akataka, using the server's account info in some server account display page, I have no problem. Anyone can see other ships when online anyway, this just makes it easier.

Now if you could only bring out the account editor, THEN we can admin. Found myself inadvertantly trying to change uneditable fields in the FL account browser! Some day! So please keep up the great work!

If I have a need to see the data I use flcodec. The GUI that someone sent with it doesn't work for me but the flcodec program works. It is just a bit cumbersome because it is a command line program and text files are edited with only the data tag lines for data explaination. FLAccount browser creates an accounts.xml file that FLConnection uses. With AkaTaka's server down, I can't create any up-to-date accounts.xml file and thus it can't place a player name to the connection's player file name. Of course the player has to have created a character before the last time accounts.xml was updated. Still it is quite quick and handy to use.

I am wondering if you or others know of a GUI account browser/editor out there? Should probably start using FLStat even though it isn't an editor. It's just I never get enough regular players to feel it's use is justified since Cryogenius pushes a all-server player list.

theres one in the news today http://www.ioncross.com/ , its updated a bit but still missing some features that I'd like and some that dont work fully. Editing a name = no chat to that player, Viewing a characters equipement to spot weapons/shield hacks.
