Banning people on IP

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

Banning people on IP

Oke we all know we can ban people on there ID this is fine in most cases but some people just keep on coming back by changing there ID and start screwing over your server again and again..

I have such person in my server that keeps coming back so no matter what i do he keeps changing ID all the time..
I think i have his IP number since he posted something a few times on the forums for my server allthough i still cant be sure..

Anyway if you have someone's ip there has to be a way to block it ..
Maybe just tru windows or a firewall but wich firewall works well with a the flserver and can block incoming data from a IP number..???

That way you could just block someone and if he has a steady IP adress he is gonna have a harder time to connect back to the server..

Anybody got a awnser to this..??

Install Tiny Personal Firewall, and block his IP from there.

Yeah i figured the banning part all out..

But it would be nice if someone could make a program that shows every ip connected to your server and who it is.. If this is possible or legal offcourse..

one word:

netstat

'course, it fails if you're running through a proxy (I think), or a LAN, but if you're directly connected, it will show you every connection to any IP that your computer currently has open.

'Course it's up to you to sort out which IP is which, but that's half the fun : P

edit: I'm blathering, and haven't explored it much at all. My current net setup is a 4 port ethernet router (w/ firewall) connected to cable. I've not found many IP addys that showed their real #'s (but also haven't looked much). I usually end up finding my router when I search for an IP of something incoming... *L*
