The fact that the server crashed when some llama connects with a modded client is just down to sloppy coding. It has naff all to do with cheat protection.
If a network packet from the client references something that doenst exist - the server should deal with it gracefully and not crash.
Add in cheat protection and then the server removes the user (or whatever) as well as not crashing in the first place.
Dont tell me they are the same. They are not.
Right now, I would be happier with a server that didnt crash but still allowed m0ngs to cheat - at least then I dont have watch the damn thing all the time to restart it.
And yes I want rid of cheating m0ngs from my server too, but first I want a stable server - crashing is having far more a drastic effect upon my users then cheating seems to be, especially if someone isnt around to manually restarting the damn thing cos the the stupid Error Send request dialog you get.
BTW - does anyone have something to auto-kill/restart servers?
