The only option I can think of would require a friend to help. Once you create a character, the name cannot be changed directly (AFAIK).

He can fly his present character to Manhattan, then buy the cheapest ship possible. Once this is done, hand over all items, equipment, and credits to a friend. Leave the server, then return with a new character. Finally, have the friend hand all the goods back to the new character. He would still need to get a new ship, but the friend could possibly provide escort before trading the stuff back to him.

This is risky, and some loss in ranking is possible. I've used my L38 character to help players on my server in a similar manner. It works great so long as the friend is trustworthy, and doesen't get killed holding the goods.

Thanks for the info. I think we will give that a try. Besides, he doesn't have much rank to lose at 20.

You are the server admin I take it? If not warn the admin what your going to do. So he doesnt get suspected of leveling up Too quickly.

a good ad-on to freelancer would be the ability to change the name...
