In server news, Regulator and I caught a modder who was able to blow up ealges with starflies and weak guns. We told him to unmod, leave the server or be banned. He came back and showed he had demoded his ship, but we have a screenie that proves he was cheating.

ok reg, i got some info for u. i started a clan, invited u to join. u were the 5th member. u came up with all the stuff, u did the leg work. GOV IS, and i stress IS ur baby, fine. take it, im not GOV any more. i m, however bringing my recruits with me if they wish. first thing i want to address is ur bull$ about banning. i do not and will not threaten to ban a player bc i disagree with them. the banning i spoke of was simply a last resort to ban a GOV name that was being exploited, not banning an IP or anything. the reason i said that was simple. if some1 is not going to b in a clan, then they cant use the tag without authorization. that is just a way of taking the authorization. banning would only b to remove a GOV character name attacking his own or giving GOV a bad name. IE, for acceptable behavior, one could attack GOV or say anything with another name, even if hes a GOV member, as long as he doesnt point his actions as being of GOV, understood? now, i would not and never will ban some1 for disagreeing with them.

now, for why i came on so strong. i did that bc 4 ppl within the clan suggested i do so. i agree with blitz, as he says, the name of hte game is FREELANCER, ok? not every1 would necessarily follow, they dont have to. but that way, no 1 could point to the GOV leadership and say that it was something tolerated by us. it was a DISCLAIMER. IT WAS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT a threat of any kind, understood? further, as to the origin of GOV, u chose the name, u set up the concepts, but i had the background, so u can now set ur own policy, i got the AR anyway, which i like better. better organized, (i dont have time, nor do i claim the ability, to organize a clan perfectly) if something goes wrong with AR, theres some1 higher up than me ot make the call. i dont like making the call, im an umpire for cryin out loud, i just got back from doin that. i dont wanna come home from makin hundreds of calls just to make a few more. im on vacation when im playin fl. im not gonna bully peeps. ive proved that, and as brow said, i put effort into being trustworthy. actually, i wanted to deviate from my normal course a little with GOV and stir up a little stuff within when i started posting. i wanted to see who had honor, and who would b friendly. my goal was to offend. i know now better than ever who will truly stick by my side. thats what i wanted in the first place, not role playing. u guys enjoy, (and btw, firestorm, no hard feelins at all, i was just throwin out a challenge, take it or leave it) i want to mix things up a little, talk a little trash to get some ppl to duel me, and by the time the lasers cool and hte dust settles, ill show u im not out to push, or "create a dictatorship" im out to throw some stuff in the mix, have some fun, and see whos best.

btw, about ur cutting remark about admins, im an admin of hte counterstrike server at my college. in 4 months, i didnt ban ANYONE. i kicked a couple, but that means they can just rejoin. so, i have had admins, and can b trusted. also, im not makin my own rules, i kill ppl for n00b killin, excessive swearing(ie freelancer-7) and cheating most of all. dont accuse when u know so little.

Ok, bits, are you just not reading the other posts? A while back, Firestorm said he WANTED ppl to violate the rules and laws cuz that would make it more fun. Same goes for the Rheinland sector.

I did not know that you could ban a players character. At first and second glance, it appeared that you are talking about banning a player. That is the way it appeared to me. Sorry for the mis-interpretation, but I am sure I am not the only one in this case. It was an unnecessary comment and pisses people off when you speak of flexing admin powers too much, especially when you bring it into clan tag issues. Your statement also appears to be creating a dictatorship with real admin power. I do agree with the concept though. If a member was stealing and misrepresenting a clan tag that I cared about, then I would request that Browclops change the name and explain why to him. It is up to Browclops if he wants comply with a request like that. He decides what is reasonable.

Sorry we had different views on the clan. I did not know that you didn't want role-play in the clan. I especially thought you liked the idea after accepting the name. You also seemed very receptive to the ideas that I submitted to you, until there were too many misunderstandings on the forum. I understand that you are not against role play, but I joined the clan thinking you wanted role-play to be a part of your clan. I would have stuck by your side in a non-roleplaying clan. And if I had known that, then I would have created an additional clan on my own and used the name for that clan.

To all Players on Browclops,

All former members of [GOV are no longer members until they re-affirm there loyalty to the clan. All former [GOV members are welcomed to keep their tags if they choose to join the reborn [GOV. I just need a list of the remaining loyalists. It will be required that you understand the basic concept of the United Systems of Browclops and it is preferable that you have read this thread thoroughly. You can either post on this forum that you would like to remain or chat with me directly. For those that will not join the reborn [GOV, I request that you remove the tag from your character name. You should transfer all valuables and sell your ship for the cheapest one. An alternative may be to request that Browclops change your name.

Members of the [GOV will enjoy the benefits that role-play has to offer! You will be eligible to run for office in the clan and could be a representative in the United Systems of Browclops. That should be fun for many. If you get in on the ground floor, you will have the opportunity to help form the Laws of [GOV, since as of this point there are none. The laws and activities have yet to be created, so I encourage others to take part and make this clan fun, but more importantly the we need to make the entire USB fun.

The clans will help to blast away the bordom effect that often occurs after fighting NPC's too long. We are planning on having events hosted by the USB in addidtion to State/Local/National sponsored events. We willl have clan meetings and even some Mock Civil Wars.

The [GOV is the Deomocratic Government that has made claim to the Liberty Systems and we are a member of the Untied Systems of Browcops USB.

ALL WE ARE DOING IS, SIMPLY PUT, ORGANIZING A HUGE GAME OF COEBOYS & INDIANS, COPS & ROBBERS, WHATEVER. Laws? On a free server? Only to challenge those like Sasha, Twex, _Cr4fty_, Constantine, and the rest of the Raiders and Mafioso to try and break them...and get away with it. Then we get to hunt them. There is, and probalby has to be, a set of ground rules to ensure that those who do not want to play, aren't harrassed, intimidated, coerced, or otherwise made to feel left out. Even the Raiders have thier own code of honour, as does the Mafia (if they claim to honour their namesake). CLAN WARS? Although there is no reason right now for one (we are one big happy family), who knows in the future?

I have for my own reasons chosen not to become involved very heavily with "clans/squads/fleets/ext." in Freelancer, I regard Freelancer as my break from what’s supposed to be my break in other games.

When I joined GOV it was for the values I saw Bits lay out, they do closely match my own and while I frankly did not bother to read through Reg’s whole post for I have seen things like that time and again. The, “I did everything and that gives me the right to do as I please” speech. Pretty much is what it boils down too.

As above, I joined GOV because I could spot its kind a mile away when I saw bits… and that was the type that have fun as a group and uphold certain values of conduct. I knew that it would uphold my desire to be my break from my break from RL. So I will be following along with Bits in order to continue my wish for what I desire Freelancer to be for me.
