Tuesday night EST(13th May) brought with it a Rabid Rabbit Chase starting at the Manhatten Docking Ring, with the finish line being my favorite place to relax, Planet Primus! Roy_Fokker was randomly selected from the starting group which included Roy_Fokker, Raptor, The_Void, TinMan, Defaultuser, Lancel, Fox, Akira and myself, Browclops (I got to chase this time). Roy got a 45 second lead and the destination announced at the start of the race. Folks split up right away, some chasing and some to blockade. Fox and I almost got Roy somewhere between Colorado and Shi***u with Defaultuser close behind, but Roy slipped past and sped on. It was only at the end as Roy_Fokker approached Primus that The_Void waxed him, then The_Void fell to the hail of laser and tachyon fire of the accumulated players. When the particle dust cleared, Akira sailed on to victory by docking with Primus and was awarded $500,000 and bragging rights!
More races to follow; we'll be mixing it up by race type in the coming weeks. Races usually occur in the evenings between 6pm and 9pm EST.

Question of the Day will get you $100,000 if you have the right answer, and the Race will commence in the evenings EST between 6 and 9pm. Races are varied now, so it could be a Browclops Rabbit Chase, Rabid Rabbit Chase, Starflier Race, or other. Be aware that anyone can be the subject of a CONSOLE BOUNTY placed on them, so be prepared to run like hell.

Updated May 22, 8:00 am EST; 1252 accounts backed up; Alot of activity going on between bountys, races and general mayhem. Next planned events should occur in the evenings this week. So far we've had Starflier racing to way too dangerous places, Rhino racing with illegal substances, Browclops (Browrabbit) chasing (undefeated in 5 episodes, thank you), Random Rabbit chasing, Mission Fantastic, Sanctioned Dueling and other, smaller events (not involving the entire Sirius Sector). Lots of old timers, lots of new comers, some hard feelings and a whole lotta love for the monkeys, baby! Some stop in, visit Planet Primus and partake of the forbidden fruit, and have some fun.

Brow takes his spankin' far too seriously *L*

Honestly, wish more servers played his games, as it's amusing and often challenging. Well, up until he spouted "Console: 250k bounty on Hellif, he's currently in the <system> system!" (was in Liberty space at the time) That wasn't amusing *L* Lost about 500k between inventory and not-equipped items...

f'n punkass! I will SO kill him next time he goes rabbit! *LOL*

Oh yea, we're quite alive and quite kicking :-) The patch rules, allowing us to increase capacity to 30 folks with no complaints of lag. At 32 I had 2 compaints from regulars on the server, so I backed off for slower testing (You were right, Default) Someone actually made a donation of alot of millions of credits two days ago, so the Browclops beer, er, race fund is up substantially. (Normally I have to make all the cash and prizes that are provided for the winners of the races, hunts, and other assorted what-not on the server.)

The last reset time will always be stated in the server news, generally once or twice a day so new folks can get the good guns; Accounts are backed up multiple times every day; Alot of activity going on between bountys, races and general mayhem. Even though few people read these, I'll post this here so that anyone who does want to know, will know.

At 5:35 pm EST the Browclops server *I think* lost connection. There is an ISP (not one of mine) router giving off an older "too many packets let me rest" message, namely "Source quench received". I haven't seen a message like this in years, but it has been associated in the past with old school flood attacks. I'm further investigating the situation and will update as I get information.

We're back up as of about 5 minutes ago. We lost a Cisco router at the T-1 interface about 5:30 pm EST, so I ran to the office and replaced it (it is now about 8:30 pm EST). We're investigating the packet flooding that occurred all day today and maxed out the T-1 circuit bandwidth but caused no adverse effects on gameplay. God I love deny all/drop rules ;-) It was a rudimentary attack and I'm sure the IP is captured, so I'll keep you all informed if you're interested. Probably someone I banned.

::NO MONKEYS WERE HURT DURING THE TESTING OF THIS SERVER::

This evening saw 16 players in brand new shiny Starfliers biting and clawing their way to (you guessed it) Planet Primus and the promise of lusty monkey love upon docking! (I'm sure the $1,00,000 credit prize for first place didn't hurt, either) Mr. Book and Little_Regulator (aka Regulator) made it the Unknown system first, but couldn't make it past the Nomads. Not far behind, Robin_Hood, aka Robin_of_Locksley, was the first to dock with my favorite jungle love resort, Primus! Of worthy note was Foxwing, aka Novawing, who managed to dock a short time later. Of the 16 starting players, only those two managed to make it all the way to Primus. Well done all, I didn't expect anyone to actually make it :-)

So far we've had Starflier racing to way too dangerous places, Rhino racing with illegal substances, Browclops (BrowRabbit) chasing (no longer undefeated, Mad_MAx managed to catch me over the weekend, damn him!), Random Rabbit chasing, Mission Fantastic, Sanctioned Dueling and other, smaller events (not involving the entire Sirius Sector). Lots of old timers, lots of new comers, some hard feelings and a whole lotta love for the monkeys, baby! Some stop in, visit Planet Primus and partake of the forbidden fruit, and have some fun.

Oh my god, sounds like a blast. I think I'll have to try this place out!

Post Thu Jun 19, 2003 6:58 am

It's always a blast on browclops. I'm on the server quite a bit, the name's freakzilla. I'm currently level 50. Give me a hollar if you guys need anything. Me and NYMPHO can hook you up. I have yet to make it to any wrecks yet with level 10 weaps on this server however. I'm stuck with some crappy ones I have on lease. What's up with that browclops?

Lots of things going on at the Browhouse. My head is still spinning from last night. We had a double whammy starting at about 11pm EST. First off was Sanctioned Dueling with 12 participants including Admiral Thrawn, "The" Patriot, Tanac, Gradient, Bitterman, Skeptic, Mr. Book FSI, Blitzraven, Smitesfury, Darkstar FSI, newsupermegaultra, and yours truly, Browclops ( I actually won one of my duels last night, hard to believe) The prize was two-fold: $1,000,000 in credits PLUS the lead role in the event that immediately followed, a Rabbit Chase to Primus!

Bitterman took Top Dog in the dueling and after loading up on bots and bats, took up position with the chasers for the start of the Rabbit Chase. Being the Rabbit, Bitterman would have a 30 second lead in the hunt, and he well took advantage of it. He took the Colorado route, followed close behind by a pack of hunters, while some others took the Rheinland route to cut him off. But in Shi***u his luck ran out, and Mr. Book FSI managed to strike the killing blow in a cutthroat scene including myself and Norgg. Mr. Book FSI then became the Rabbit, and I promptly went after him, however Norgg thought I had struck the final blow, and promptly went after me! I broke off my attack on Book as my hull began to collapse and barely escaped, however Book had seized on the opportunity and was gone! After that, Norgg, myself, Thrawn and Patriot hounded Mr Book system after system, but he was too slippery. It was only K's from Planet Primus with the sky full of Nomads and pilots that Admiral Thrawn appeared to catch Mr Book and pop a cap in him, but it was a ruse! Darkstar FSI had appeared as a decoy, attacked and taken our attention away, and Mr Book managed to squeak by and dock with the jungle love planet (minus some paint, nice shooting Norgg). Hard to admit I was tricked, but it was a lovely piece of work and the team well deserved the prize of $1,000,000. Kudos to Mr Book FSI and Darkstar FSI.

Even funner to play.

Is 'funner' a word?

Post Sun Jun 22, 2003 5:41 pm

I think the server crashed... It's not showing in the list anymore and I got booted off with a message the server had crashed or my connection was down.

What happened?

Post Sun Jun 22, 2003 5:47 pm

Through our own arrogance, I think the monkies have finally taken over, damn you, damn you all to hell!!!!
Or mebbe it was something less trivial...
Bring back the server... and since its really hard to get on it these days, get a larger pipe and increase the player limit
(Please)
