starting a server behind a router

Here SysOps can list their MultiPlayer server info and users can send feedback to their SysOps. Or just talk about the MultiPlayer servers they play on. This is not about MultiPlayer in general - please use the MultiPlayer Forum for that!

well maybe ur router has an internal firewall....in the interface normally is a option where u can disable the firewall for a certain ip...this ip must be the one of the server.....now ur friend should be able to join

Resender,

Do you have a seperate router that your main machine uses to access the internet? If so, you'll need to tell the router to forward any "Freelancer server traffic" to your server machine. You can do this by telling the router to forward all UDP traffic on ports 2300-2400 to the IP address of the machine on which flserver is running. See the supplied Readme.rtf and the extra's folder on the CD for more information.

I'm behind a router ... no problems with port forwarding, but ...well, actually I have noticed that my server is publishing my DMZ IP (10.x.x.x), absolutely not useful for an host .

There is a way to publish my public dns name, instead of IP? it really helps guys like me, with a "semi-static" IP
