I would choose 2003, as ME is no longer supported by MS.

Be carefull with the Win2K3 SE you need to customaized a little bit first! But feer not, a lot of help you find on the Net. Just write on google "Win2K3Standard Edition as a workstation" and you'l find the answere. If you have problem with the software... you know were to find me!

I played FL on Windows 2000 and found it acceptable. Especially now that DirectX 9.0c is out the framerate issues have mostly been resolved.

WHAT?! Then why isnt MINE working?! I played the game before (full version) on ME with the EXACT SAME VIDEO CARDS and it worked FINE!! gaaaaaaaaaah!

Don't be anggry Vengashii, Like Hahukum Konn said the Win2K is "acceptable" not good. Besides, maybe his Videocard was diffrent. The Win2K rezisted on my PC only one week! I changed back to 98SE, but that was long time ago.

Corsair_StarKiller, who don't let you copy the fonts?
If you can't copy from CD try clean it first and look for some scrach.
Maybe your CD is damaged and need to be replace.

At the time I was using an AthlonXP 2100+ with a Geforce 2 MX 400 (64 meg, I believe) video card. I actually didn't see much bogging in the game and even the slight jitter on trade lane hoops was cured by a small overclock of the card.

And that was definitely Win2K.

It's a big differences between GF2MX400 and SIS630 esspecially when is mounted in an AGP port. From what I know SIS630 not soported T&L so it's not bassicaly an 3D Grafic Accelerator. Win2K not handlle very good games and that is reflected even in WinXP wich is built from the engine of the Win2K. That's why earllyest version of the XP have some problem with old games (including Freelancer).
Like I said before I like Win Server2K3 SE because it's very stablle and it's a little bitt closer to WinME. You can't make this OS to crash even if you want! And it's fully optimized to work on the Net.
Vengashii I recomand to install back ME until you make an upgrade to your sistem. (Unfortunatelly, you badly need one.)

IAR80: no no when i tried to copy the files to my C:\WINDOWS\FONTS i can do it, or i missunderstand you? should i replace the files in my game or in my pc "C:\WINDOWS\FONTS" ??

Copy the Fonts from the CD, in C:\Windows\Fonts
