Some extremely messed up video problem

Right, i boot up Freelancer Demo version, and my main screen looks like this:

What the heck?[/img

How the fug do I fix this? I really want to play Freelancer again, and this is the first time i've received this problem since installing Windows 2000. I played it on Windows ME before, and it worked fine. Same drivers, directX, and Freelancer recognizes my video card, SiS 630. What the devil is going on?

Did you try reinstalling the game, it usually fixes the problem. Or either you could get the full version off url=http://XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
and download it ( its the cracked version ).

It is completely bug free.

Oh one more thing is that illegal cos' if it is i will delete the website (it's mine). I only created it because microsoft stopped making Freelancer and it doesn't get sold anywhere anymore. So please alert me if it is illegal.

Edit - Deleted link, NO discssions of cracks alloed, PERIOD!

uh.. yes it is very illegal... Just becuase something isn't sold anywhere, doesn't make it right to put a pirated version out on this site.. Why do you think they have something called Copyrights Best remove it before an admin sees this. (it might be too late already)

Actually, I looked at the other topics and seem to be experiencing the exact same flickering text problems the SiS 630/730 has. Are there any fixes out in the last year or so this problem was mentioned?

Do you have an AGP slot?

If so get you a GeforceFX5200 or better they are cheap and run freelancer like a champ.

If you have a PCI slot you can still find nice video cards very cheap maybe $35 to your door. If you live in the U.S.

I will admit i dont know a lot of whats in my computer, beyond the basic motherboard, CPU, etc etc. Whats an AGP/PCI slot?

And if it helps any, (yours, not me) i asked my Dad if i could change video cards on my computer and he said, "not with that one." <_<

A PCI card is where things like TV cards go. Some old graphics cards go there too. AGP slots are where newish graphics cards go, and a PCI Express slot is where really new graphics cards go.

ok, first off, if you want to play ,you might as well order a complete copy, its only 16.$ us, and i have asked and found it in many stoes for as low as $2.oo us, its not expensive, as for your computer as long as its less than, 5 yrs old it will be able to run it but maybe slow , even wallmart has video cards with 128mg nvidea. chipset witch is good, and usually around $50.oo for it"witch is cheap for a card. and if you coputer is that old, it will have a pci slot , even if it isnt that old it will have an extra pci slot for a new, video card. if you dont know anything i have said you might want to have a computer store look at the computer and the game. and they will help you out.
or just ask in here again. there are down loads in this forum for the present day video card recognition.

Windows 2000 !!! Man, that OS have the engine from the Win NT so it's not good for playing games, esspecialy with your videocard. If you want an OS to work very good with the old PC I recomand Win Server 2003 Standard Edition. This are the minum requirements: Pentium 1 133Mhz, 128 Mb RAM and 4Mb VideoCard! And in my opinion it's better than XP. Plus, he have the look of XP, but runs better.
