A cool mod, wish i could code it
I had a cool idea for a mod for either SP or MP. It's based solely on my love for the original Privateer.
The random mission generator only currently supports kill missions. Though it may be an installation, or recovering cargo, it seems like these repetitive nuggets of ingenuity are getting stale.
I'm playing the game (after the single player campaign) as a merchant. Though I would *LOVE* to see a mod to enable heavy transports, hirable escorts, and the like; I would really enjoy a mod to enable delivery missions. These missions would allow players to build faction with the various corporations (or pirates, via smuggling runs), as well as encourage players to explore more of the trade options available in the game. As the current kill missions already generate foes at a predetermined location, missions could have advisories in the descriptions (such as, where lane hackers/etc are reported to be, etc.) The mission generator would then build encounters at these waypoints that could be avoided via jump holes, taking longer routes, etc. etc.
Anyone else have any ideas as to the feasability of this type of a mod?
Thanks for reading!
