Random: weapons drop etc aka d2lod

Hi! I want create a mod in the dynamical style of d2lod. But how can I randomize stats and drop chances of the weapons and items in the game?

Weapons already DO drop. The file which defines them is missions/lootprops.ini. That defines the probabilites of any specific item dropping.....provided that the unfortunate victim actually *HAS* one. If, however, the victim lacks the item, he cannot, obviously, drop it. None of that "swarm of bugs dropping a huge suit of armor" stuff.

Reading through there, it's obvious that, at one point, shield generators were supposed to drop, but ships/loadouts.ini controls what enemies are equipped with, and, for some unexplained reason, somebody went through the bother of creating 30 clones of the existing shields just for NPCs, with crippled regeneration. I've fixed this, and now NPC shield generators both properly regenerate and drop, and the change works entirely serverside: Clients need to download/install nothing for it to take effect.

ok weapons drop but what about randomized stats of weapons? (like rare items in d2) how can i set the stats to random with a few borders?

Hey Norfleet,
Great work! I would love for people to add this to thier servers! With this active, gameplay is stressed more on teamwork because you need to take down the enemy quickly so their shields dont regenerate.

If you wouldnt mind, could you send me the files (or tutorial on how you got it to work)? Not only would I like to implement that into my server, but I would also like to add this info into the Freelancer SDK that is being worked on by a few of us.
