I think it is a good thing that we don't have the "Neverwinter Nights" effect going here.

What I am referring to is how with NWN, every random jacko would submit their steaming pile of crap and say "HEY! I MADE A MOD!"

It is far preferably for people to share what they learn and share code, rather than passing around incomplete mods that are definitely not ready for "prime time."

The problem which impedes mod-sharing is that there is no location for the posting and storage of people's mods. That means anyone who successfully made a mod is generally limited to no more than "Woo!", unless they just happen to have control of an internet webserver to post things on.

Here's an example of modding guidelines (how to name, etc). Some of it won't apply, but the general ideas are good, such as info on a mod (ini replace, campaign, etc).

That sucks. We need a good freelancer mod website where you can submit mods themselves instead of just posting code. Unfortunately I dont know how to host a like... 1 gig or so partition for my website I do own a domain. I think I'm supposed to use...Apache or something. I know how to partition but as to Hosting I have NO hope in hell unless someone helps me. I'd be happy to host.

Update: I asked someone and yes it is Apache webserver or something. Anyone have a clue as to how I use it? Thanks.

I'm no professional and I may just be blowing smoke, but I think Apache only runs on a *nix system, if you have a box that runs it, great. If not...?

I think I saw a tutorial on how to make Apache run on Windows one time, heh, but I forget where I saw it at. You might try looking at www.astalavista.com , they have alot of nice tutorials there.

Yeah. I found the site, been looking around and all I found was um... tutorials about how to hack hotmail I'll keep looking there and on google. Once I get it up I'll post about it.
