Umm... now i dont really know what you mean with that...

You mean the stuff in 'shiparch.ini'?

That file was certainly one of the things I was looking for. I am in the search of a complete listing of all objects that can go to Archetype..

For example :

[Object
nickname = DA01_to_LI01
ids_name = 061982
pos = -83176, 0, 44831
rotate = 0, -70, 0
Archetype = jumpgate <===========================================
msg_id_prefix = gcs_refer_system_Li02
ids_info = 66145
jump_effect = jump_effect_bretonia
reputation = li_p_grp
behavior = NOTHING
difficulty_level = 1
goto = Li01, Li01_to_Da01, gate_tunnel_bretonia
loadout = jumpgate_da_01
pilot = pilot_solar_easiest

That Archetype can be an outpost, be a battleship, be anything else. I want to know what all the possibilities are. For example I found this out by playing =>

(Make a backup !)

Add this to DATA\SYSTEMS\YourSystem\YourSystem.ini (for example Li01.ini)

[Object
nickname = Da01_03
ids_name = 196768
pos = -82176, 0, 52831 ; You may want to change this location to find easier
Archetype = rm_l_dreadnought
reputation = li_n_grp
behavior = NOTHING
pilot = pilot_solar_hard
hitpoints = 100, 100
repop_time = 10 <===== Decides how long it will take for the Dreadnought to respawn.

This creates a DREADNOUGHT, That is Destroyable. As far as I have tested if you add "rm_" infront of "l_dreadnought" you add a HP bar to it and make it destroyable. Tested adding "rm_" with a Bretonian Battleship "b_battleship" and it worked as well.

Now I am curious on where to find destroyable AND dockable bases.

Edit: I didn't manage to add any weapons to the Dreadnought tho, neither was I able to make it fight back when its attacked..So any help is welcome there.

Aeh I forgot to add...."rm_" didn't work with outposts...So don't go around trying "rm_outpost" =)

I think they are all defined in SOLAR/solararch.ini

Also read freelancer.ini file in EXE dir. It has some comments which help to figure out what is what!

Ah !

Thank you very much

Awesome...and now for a loadout so he fights back...

add the following line (I put it after difficulty_level = 3)...

loadout = li_dreadnought_li_01

voila...the battleship now has guns and shoots back

and if you want to see something silly, add the following line...
spin = 2, 0, 0
you now have a rapidly spinning battleship. Apparently, any object can be made to spin, though I suspect docking at a spinning object would be a problem.

I've been trying to modify the behaviour, so it wanders around the system, but it seems like no matter what I set 'behavior = ' to it just sits there. This may be related to the 'pilot = ' line...solar pilots may not be able to move. I'll try some other stuff tomorrow night. Still no luck getting cap ships to spawn in encounters either, but at least with this info we can create some set piece battles involving cap ships...outside of the single player campaign.

later...sb

How can you tell which system is yours? And where can you get the coordinates of a location? I'm looking for the Omicron system Ini's.

Hey Marodeur, thanks for the tip... should be easy to create a huge fleets (doing absolutely nothing, but still) this way. One question though: how do you prevent multiple instances of the Dreadnought from all having the same name (ie. Missouri)? I tried messing around with nickname = xxx, which yielded partial success but didn't work quite right.

Ok, figured out how to tell which system it is( I think), but I'm not sure where to add the lines. When I open up the file with Notepad, I get about 6 lines of Blocks representing non-readable letters, and 4-5 lines of actual attributes or whatever. Do I just add in all the lines at the very end? Or do I have to put them in certain places?
