CHEATING-why you don''t do it

I have to say, when I first started playing this game, I was a bad boy (don't get dirty on me) what i mean was I used a trainer . Now after playing the game for a while I realize why you should defentaly stop if you are using one. IT RUINS THE GAME! not just for yourself, but for everyone else on the server (if you play mp) and just makes your game a 39.99(59.99 Canadian ) box of nothing. So fotr all you cheaters out there, you know who you are......SO STOP!

All you people who run the servers should post the problems that they cause, ping, gameplay, funfactor, whatever on your servers.

Oh and if anyone has any ideas on how to block MP game cheating?

yeah, well, uh - DA/Microsoft or whoever's doing the developing portion of the game now, needs to learn what 'serverside' means, and why money is not something that should be a 'clientside' value.

why money is not something that should be a 'clientside' value.

Money?
MONEY?!?
Money HELL!

EVERYTHING is clientside!!!
With just a copy & paste of a couple of files you can have any ship/weapon/etc you want, on any planet/base you want it at, and for any price you want it to be...ALL in multiplayer!

Whomever designed the server f****d up ROYALLY, and the beta testers f****d up just as bad by not pointing it out when they had a chance to, BEFORE it was released.
(I say that ASSUMING that the beta testers didn't mention it to DA, if they DID mention it to them and DA said "screw it, we can't worry about that" then I apologize for that last statement. )

I am really getting VERY disappointed in this game.
The "open-ended" singleplayer game is "level restricted" and very "closed".
The multiplayer aspect, which I truly looked forward to the MOST, is shabby, poorly conceived and executed, and generally worthless to anyone except those that only wish to play with one or two close friends.
And, about 25%-45% of what it was originally being designed to be seems to have been dropped over the course of it's developement.

I SOOOOO wanted this to be the game they wanted to make.
And I keep getting my hopes for it shoved right back in my face as so much steaming crap.

Very true, sad but true. Doubt they will ever make a patch to stop it ethier, so this games life may come to end much to quickly if they don't do something fast.

In the interview that was posted earlier the developer said they had a "rock solid" multiplayer...

We never had a chance to realize this was possible until the INI decompressor was released. Until then, we weren't even sure it would be possible to open them, much less that there would be minimal server-side file checking. I myself only realized it while testing files in my mod, just a day or two before it was "leaked" on this forum. DA has been literally flooded with information from us on this, through Xgirl and other means, so they are very aware of the problem now. As of right now they're "investigating" the issue, and will be discussing it... Now we wait.

I think as long as there's hope that they'll actually do something about it we're in good shape.

The fact that they didn't realize the files could be decompressed is ridiculous. I mean, DVD encryption has been hacked, along with every other encryption scheme out there... It's a no brainer that a way would be found to decompress the INIs.

Thanks Tach.

I am Very sorry about my bad attitude regarding this.
But, I have literally spent hours today being run in circles by Microsoft trying to find out anything I could about possible patches to be released to fix this.
I am drunk, and have a splitting headache...I blame M$! LMAO!
I am pretty sure that if any other company except M$ would have bought DA, or even just published the game, that more time would have been spent on testing and this situation would not be happening.

Plus, to ME $50 is A LOT of money!
I am NOT rich, in fact I am lower than poverty level to be blunt, and spending that money which SHOULD have gone for FOOD on a game that at this time looks to be an utter waste...well, I am sure at least some people would understand.

I would suggest that you make some form of "unofficial official announcement" on this site about it being looked into.
Until you just mentioned it I have been getting the impression that nobody at M$/DA knew, or cared about it.

Be well Man,

PD

If anybody else bought DA, it might not even HAVE multiplayer and would probably be a lot crappier. I'm not a huge fan of MS's business practices but to be fair they gave DA a lot more time than I could imagine anybody else giving.
