Ideas for balancing and improving

Ships need to be changed. Cargo space capacity is ridiculously high, a light fighter should carry something like 5 and definitely not 20. Fighters are not cargo ships no matter how much you want them to be, if you want to run cargo, get a humpy, if you want to do missions, get a fighter, it's that simple, I'd love to see a pair of pirates working together, one with a heavy fighter and one with a cargo ship. Also if there is something that can be done to the size of the ships, the cargo ships are just too small, look at a humpy, a dromedary, clydesdale, drone and rhino and tell me if they really look different enough to justify the differences in their cargo holds.

Something must be done to make house ships more attractive, basically because their are a lot of ships with no purpose. I would say all of the kusari ships are average if not worse then average and I don't think I've ever seen someone fly one in multiplayer, let alone a bloodhound or wolf hound. For cargo ships perhaps you could have to pay a tax on goods sold if you aren't flying that nations ships, perhaps you wouldn't be allowed to take missions from a nations bases unless you were flying that nations ships as well. A more extreme proposal would be to have extreme faction adjustments based upon which nations ship you're flying, basically like flying a nations flag back in the age of sail.

I would love to see the economy modded so that planets would pay more for items they "need" and that cargo ships would be dispatched to these planets in appropriate strengths according to their needs, but this sounds like a massive pain in the ass, so I don't expect this to happen.

Something needs to be introduced into the game to burn up player money, some fuel or something, so player banks aren't constantly rising but instead they're constantly dropping with the player being forced to make money or run out of fuel, perhaps make light fighters not consume as much fuel and therefore make them more attractive, since they're pretty sad.

Perhaps I don't understand exactly how the world servers are working but from what I've seen, once a class 10 weapon is found, no one else can find them and therefore they are extremely rare and a nice prize for those who have them, these should definitely stay especially in a pvp server.

One last thought for now, SPEED, wtf a freighting goes just as fast as a light fighter on afterburner? I have major issues with this, perhaps if half the cargo hold was devoted to the engine I could see this but no way a humpy should be able to keep up with even a heavy fighter.

I hope someone gets some ideas from these thoughts, because I really like this game but in it's current state, I'll go back to waiting for eve-online.

Sorry for the double post but I'm not done yet =P.

Another Idea I had was to make high price cargo items a pirate magnet, and not just weak ass lane hackers, If you've got 250 diamonds and you're almost to new tokyo, the mob there should be on you like dogs. Carrying 250 of any high priced cargo should draw pirates from all over making carrying such quantities either suicidal or requiring some people to back you up.

And another comment on fuel, you could store fuel in your cargo bays =) Alright I'm done, hopefully someone gets something from this =)

I like the idea of having to fuel up once in awhile. Maybe there could be changing fuelprices.
And having taxes on trade lanes like privateer2!

lol this started out as a reply to blitz's thread on balancing but it turned into more of a rant so I posted it as it's own thread =)
