Subtitles for the in-game videos (a.k.a. Experimenting with

I was fiddling with s002xe_nrml_sinclair_li_01_cityscape_01.thn to put another TextStart and TextString values of a specific entity, but when I've decompilered the thn to lua and tried to test the unmodified (or rather decompilered) lua file the ingame cinematics just after the destrucion of FP7 screwed up all round as the following text appeared: 'PLANET MANHATTAN, NEW YORK SYSTEM.' The ship is landing eight times, weird things happen with the actors and such things, but I didn't change anything except decompilered the thn.

Anyone knows how to get rid of this nasty thing to continue with my experimentations of adding TextString values to the actions of the charachters? Adding TextStrings to the audio mixes would be silly because I want to make subtitles of the in-game cinematics. It would be possible?

Thanks.

Yes you can edit the lua's with notepad but imho you should open it with NotePad++, because its ui is much friendly and easy to use (the NP++ shows the scripting sequences with different colours).

Any suggestions about the bug?

Sounds like you've messed up the timing in the thn, get FLScan 1.3 from the downloads as it has a thn repair funtion that works on most of the thn's.

**shuffles of with a new headache**

Thanks Bejaymac, the thn's were corrupted. The only problem is that we've found some interesting things in thorn.dll. There is a SUBTITLE type in thorn.dll that means there is a subtitle option in the game, but we don't know how can we use the SUBTITLE type. It's sure that the SUBTITLE is in the events not in the entity in the lua's.

We have tried to do something like that:

<pre><font size=1 face=Courier> {
3.4,
SUBTITLE,
{
"foobar"
},
{
duration=5.0,
strid=259608
}
}, </font></pre>

Any suggestions?
