Ship balancing: Opinions needed

Hello people,

I am balancing out all the standard issue ships, so that they all can use level 10 weapons, have increased hull and energy etc.
Everything is going fine, except that I do not have a lot of experience flying all of the available ships.
What my goal is now is that ships like the Drake, which handles incredibly fast, will get a lot less armor than a Dagger, which maneuvers much slower. This should balance out the fact that a Drake can outmaneuver about anything.

What I'd like to hear from you is your opinion about every ship in Freelancer.
On a scale of 1-10, how maneuvrable do you find the various ships in Freelancer?
1 is dead slow, 10 is very fast.

The list:

-- Light Fighters --
Starflier - 8
Patriot - 9
Startracker - 8
Piranha - no idea
Dagger - 7
Bloodhound - no idea
Cavalier - no idea
Legionnaire - no idea
Drake - 10
Hawk - 9
Banshee - no idea

-- Heavy Fighters --
Defender - 6
Crusader - 6
Barracuda - no idea
Dragon - 7
Wolfhound - no idea
Stiletto - 6
Valkyrie - no idea
Falcon - 8
Centurion - no idea

-- Very heavy fighters --
Anubis - 6
Hammerhead - no idea
Eagle - 8
Sabre - 5
Titan - 4

-- Freighters --
Rhino - 2
Mule - 3
Clydesdale - no idea
Drone - 3
Dromedary - no idea
Humpback - 1

If some of you would like to share their opinions then I would be very happy. Thanks!

In the vanilla game, a lot of ships have identical handling. Whoever was in charge of balancing the ships out was likely either forced to scramble to make a deadline or simply at a loss for ideas. Anyway, I will list identical ships in groups, and these groups in decreasing order of handling.

- Patriot
- Starflier, Drake (these could also arguably be more agile than the patriot)
- Falcon, Eagle, Barracuda, Hammerhead
- Hawk, Piranha, Cavalier, Banshee, Dagger, Legionairre, Bloodhound
- Defender
- Startracker
- Crusader, Dragon, Valkyrie, Stilleto, Sabre, Centurion, Titan, Wolfhound, Anubis
- Rhino, Clydesdale, Drone, Mule, Dromedary
- Humpback

In the interest of variety, you may want to first pursue some tinkering of ship handling first and then balance durability and firepower afterwards (it's quite easy; the hardest part is making decisions). But if you don't want to, those groupings above ought to be helpful.

Thanks, I might do that. I'm not too happy about how some ships are handling themselves.
