Planet sized sphere''s

The general place to discuss MOD''ing Freelancer!

Post Sun May 21, 2006 3:04 pm

Well, yes, sur's handle weapon hits, but planets aren't destructible, so it wouldn't matter. Kinda like vanilla stations.

If that is the case the I could use the sphere and put it in game without the sur's.

So

1 What ini files do I need to edit to put it in game.
2 I'm still not sure of the size.

I have put ships in game but nothing like this.
Any help would be greatfull!

I'm sorry, I sorta gave you misinformation. What I meant to say was: The surs handle damage as well as hitting things and bouncing off of them. i.e. solid stuff. If you took it out, you would be able to enter and exit whenever you wished.

Have you tried to use a SPH file with a negative radius? Maybe the game will then turn it inside out, and you'll have a sphere that's both visible and touchable from the inside (and you'll need another, slightly larger, normal planet for the outside if that's to be visible and tochable).

Actually I doubt if this will work, but i's worth a try.

Yes I tried it and no joy. Oh well looks like the dyson thing is out. It sounded like a good idea.

Ok here's another idea I have. Can a new asteroid model be put into freelancer? It seems to me that there was a post about that but i'll be darned if I can find it.

Anyways any help would be greatfull.

Well I can't help you any other way than this suggestion; Why not make a deathmatch, that cannot be escaped? Like clan wars or something, and the winning team can simply kill eachother, or run into a mine field you set.

You see I don't want anything to kill players while they are inside except for other players.

This is becuase it could be used for other things as well.

But thanks anyway.

all you would have to do as i see it is get argh's pretty planet, open it in milkshape, then just flip the polys so the texture part is on the inside. then just export it as a .sur. also as there is no-one and nothing on the outside then you wouldn't need to put it inside another planet for it's sur file stop people from coming in.
