little help...again

hello evryone
me has finished like 90% of preparations for mod and finaly decided to make first system(starting system) well all went good till... i turned on flserver
it doesn't starts console says something about cant find elite male/female bodys....anyway if anyone has solution or any advice at all just say it

edit: sorry for short question i was waching movie on TV at same time
anyway mod you mentioned wont work with my mod because i deleted all systems original game had
all bodies and everything is same as in original game, actualy just to test, is everything working(?), i used same bodys and names given in faction tutorial for all factions i have

i used flscan but it only found that i removed missions...basicly made mod not SP compatible unless i re-add NY , what i am going to do to test if that is the posible problem

FLScan was posted on the main page, i'd try downloading it, and then activating your mod. THEN install it and scan your freelancer directory, checking and correcting errors as highlighted by FLScan (beware that you will need to make the changes on your mods directory, and not the Freelancer directory )

Ilerien -

Your question is very very very vague and virtually unanswerable my friend...

Chips' suggestion is an excellent one to help you with your mods.

I will also suggest that you use his Single Player mod for debugging before you try FLServer.

For this problem, you have not given us much information to help you.

Your question is saying "I made a system and it's telling me it can't find people in it, what is wrong?"

Well I will try anyhow...

Your system definition is probably defining incorrect body names for the characters at one or more of the bases you have made. You have to use body parts and hands and heads that are in the original game files, my friend.

When you make a new system, you should define your bases and people and planets and suns and asteroids and nebulas and ships etc... by using existing parts. If you want to invent your own new ones then you must also construct every part you use too. That is not easy.

So - for your new system that does not work... if you put the characters in it yourself, you should be able to find the places you defined characters that look like "elite" or similar.

Go and find the original DATA\MISSIONS\mbases.ini and one of the good system ini files like DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\LI01\Li01.ini - print them both out and look at them on paper and compare them carefully with your ones.

Then if you have specific problems you can't see easily, try asking a better and more precise question again please, BUT YOU HAVE to post your system ini file and the part of the mbases.ini that describes your system if you want to help us to try to help you accurately.

Be very careful when you define your systems and everything, most problems are caused by bad spelling so when the game tries to translate them, they do not match with existing parts that the game knows about. So printing out your system definition files on paper is a good way to help you see problems.

I'm trying to help you understand what you have to do and how to ask. Many friends here will reply very well to precise questions. But very few will reply to vague ones like this one.

as for bases well i used fl explorer to make starting base and it has no characters

FLEs good, but when you want to add freelancer.ini and edit the start up movies etc. the names from the .dll that FLE gives you become faulty.

Unless some1 can sort this out

for that i used FLids and FLIniEditor and all other tools i needed to create good mod

Then you don't understand that what you experienced and found may help someone else to avoid it by posting it here, even if you feel it was very basic.

One obvious problem is that in your space_costume = definitions,
"voc_male_elite_body" and "voc_female_elite_body" do not exist in the basic FL game.

I guess that is one of the problems you made for yourself.

well that was the problem
now i'm trying to figure out why flexplorer crashes when i add ships
if it continues to do like that i'll have no other choise as to add them in old way.....I HATE OLD WAY

Let me guess ! your ships code is in XML FLE can't stand XML as it can't read it, so if your mod has a lot of XML then FLE usually crashes.

i decided to not add any new ships or weapons
this is just a test system with test base

oh and i added them in old way by just pasting br01_01_base entrys just to make sure i can't mistake btw game still crashes

FLScan 1.3 has found 6981 errors running on a base of SDK 1.5, it normally finds 20 errors with the SDK, I'll get back to you once the error report finishes cooking my RAM & CPU.

**EDIT** Okay after 20 minutes FLScan has finally stopped cooking my PC and created an error report. What I need to know is what type of mod are you trying to make, a TC (Total Conversion) or an addon that doesn't use the FL systems or factions, as by looking at the files those 2 options are my conclusions. Let us know what your trying to make and we'll try and steer you on the right path.

when i got my 6k mistakes i just turned off pc
i'm trying to make mod with new systems,new factions with no old systems
and maybe few new bases and ships
so basicly addon

THAT's a Total Conversion, unless the player still has access to them.
