Jumpgate, Skin Change and Physics change???

I was thinking about the Jumpgates.

and I was wondering is it possible to make a whole new skin for the jump gates, in a sort of grab bag pack. For ex. like when you activat the Speed mod in FLMM you get a drop down list for how fast you want cruise to go so on and so forth.

Can you have a mod that reskins Jumpgates the same way. you can choose which jumpgate type you want in the game. Also are there even any jumpgate skins out there, i've been looking and i cant find any. I would like to have a grab bag of skins to play with, just something to change up base FL which i like.

Another Question. Is it possible to create some sort of accelerator type of Jumpgate.

For Ex. Imagine a Long tube or 4 rods connected by concentric rings. you dock with the "Accelerator" as you get to the front you start accelerating, faster and faster, then when you reach the other side you go through the normal jumpgate animation like normal then you reach the other side and you come out going fast and decelerate quickly and come to a stop at the front of the accelerator on the other side. Also i was thinking of putting the Nomad Jumphole graphic at the other end and you race into the light.

The Idea is that The Ancient Jumpgate network is open after the story is over. so I was thinking as Humans, we would nessicerily understand it but we might be able to activate it. So we have this accelerator that would stabilize the energy to shoot you through to a far corner of the galaxy in another star system far away. It would happen quick, and fast and forceful and then boom you there and Your like "What the hell just happened" kind of feeling.

What I want to know is can the jumpgate do that. and If so How.

yes it can be done... pretty easy

The files to edit are: Gate_Tunnel.ini, and JumpEffects.ini, in the \Data\FX folder.
You can change the color, duration, and speed, of jumps by editing the appropriate entries.
As to your accellerator idea, you'd need to have a custom model built, add it to the SolarArch.ini, make it Dockable, and add a loadout for it in the Solar\Loadouts.ini file.

Er, I think he means a new skin for the jump gate itself, not the jump effect. At least, that was the impression I got.

It was my understanding that he was looking for both.
Since I'm not a modeler, and can't give advice on importing the jumpgate's CMP/MAT files into Milkshape, nor instructions on how to change a MAT file, I gave information on the part that I have experience with.
