Ship Disappears when cruising??

Hello Freelancers

I have a problem with one of my new ships.

When you hit the Thrusters it disappears for a second and then reappears. If you hit cruise the only thing I can see is the engine flame, and the ship disappears totally till I stop cruising.

Any Ideas on how to fix this problem?

check the LoDranges.

Ok I changed the LOD to LODranges = 0, 75, 150, 1300 it has improved but just for a split second it disappears, at least it is viewable after it starts.

Any suggestions on a better LOD?

Flybyu if it's a custom ship then set the LODranges to LODranges = 0, 3000 as custom ships usually don't have more than one LOD built into them.

hmm..,

Sounds to me like bounding boxes.. try using Anton's Flmodel tool.. it's in the downloads section.. the problem with custom ships is that they lack bounding boxes and if viewed off axis and when docking on planets/leaving docking rings etc.. they disappear momentarily.. maybe thats the problem..

if the ship disappears at the edge on the screen then its because of a bounding box

if it disappears in the middle of the screen then its the LOD... and like it already has been said.... custom ships usually only use 2 values for the LOD
so if your ship accelerates the distance between it and the camera gets higher so your LOD (2nd value) is not high enough to show the ship anymore

other players wont see your ship either in mp or only if they are very close to it

It is the LOD I have played with it and it is better but still disappears just for a second and also when you come upon then.

The ship is the CSV from the game; I don’t know why the original LOD does not work.
Cruising speed is 500

Any suggestions on LOD?

if its original it should work this this: LODranges = 0, 60, 150, 250, 800, 1000

OK I fixed it.

Thanks for your help Everyone.

Good call SWAT_OP-R8R
I changed the mesh and now I just deleted it and reset the org values. It's working yeah!

IMPORTANT

To all ship makers:
If you make a ship that has only one LoD (mostly every custom ship)
then set the LoDranges at 0, 99999

Stefan the LoDrange is down to the person coding the mod not the shipwright, having a LoD set to 99999 (100 km) is a bit much when you can't see the ship model past 1.5 km.

I didn´t know in what scale the LoDranges are, but most of the custom ships use the values 0, 99999
