gun/missile mounts

Hi all,

I'd like to change gun/missile mounts to either gun or missile mounts. Is that possible?

yes

u can declare missiles mountable on certain level hardpoints and edit guns not to be mounted on that particulat level

im using this in my mod to restrict no of missiles mountable on each ship


but be carefull u can mess up gameplay if u dont think it good

dang k0rben- same here.i took missiles away from light fighters,and gave them full level guns - HF's and VHF's carry missiles primarily for dealing with the zippy LFs

i made it like this: VHF's 2 missiles any lvl
HF 1 missile under lvl 5
LF no missiles :p

ofcourse guns any level of any ships cheers Argh

Yeah, I thought of level dependend harpoints as an option, but I'm sort of running out of classes, so I was kinda hoping there was another way...

as in adding new hardpoint classes?no (well,not without some heavy hex editing)
but if you look at it you have lots and lots of them to recycle if you just reduce things here and there:
three shield hardpoint classes 1-10(thats 30 levels,i'm sure they would work just as well as gun hardpoint levels, although i've never tried it)
gun hardpoint classes 1-10(too many imo, so i just use 6-10 for missiles mounts,which are coded to accept guns of equivalent level, so a hp6 missile point will accept a hp1 gun)
turret hardpoint classes 1-10
torpedo 1-2
and hp_gun(takes all weapons)
