Inreguards to Freelancer, have you tried creating a ship, then import t freelancere wit it?

yah, but the adding hardpoints is a probelm, just figuring it out now!

But I have been able to convert a ship from prodesktop to Milkshape 3D, sorta

What about Wings3D, I learned to model ships in it and use it alot now for things like:
USS PROMETHEUS
USS ENTERPRISE-F (my little idea)
ROMULAN WARBIRD
PHOENIX (Startrek first contact)
STARBUG (Red Dwarf)
BORG CUBE/Sphere (Yawn!)
BORG TRANSWARP APERTURE

It has a built in UV mapper, but no animation (not really important though), and no measurements.
The best bit is that it is OPENSOURCE!!!

All well and good but what shape are the models in when you import them into Milkshape, seeing as Milkshapes the only one with a CMP exporter for Freelancer.

the models are fine, since ive started CMP-making. I use OBJ format to get them to MS3D. The 2D triangles are also retained.
