So, how d''ya change the gun-missile text?

Its not critical for what i'm working on, but it would be good to be able to completly control what the player sees. For adding dedicated mounts for engines, powerplants, shield generators and stuff..
I've looked through resources.dll and got a bunch on numbers for the different hp_types. I think this would be added to my next mod as right now it would be a complete nightmare. I'll have to see how i get on.
So, numbers like:
gun-missile class 1-10 are 1525 - 1534
freighter shield class 1-10 are 1721 - 1730
elite (Hf) shield class 1-10 1711 - 1720
fighter shield class 1-10 17 - 1710
I'm guess its more complicated than just changing the text. I thing I heard mentioned ages ago that the hash codes for these statements are linked elsewhere. Whats the next step? Any help wud be appreciated.

As far as I know there is nothing that prevents the text from being changed. Have you tried it?

It might seem silly, but i tried changing (and adding..), new things to resources.dll before and it stopped showing them. I haven't actually tried doing it yet because I was pretty sure it would need some brain-damage-inducing hashcodes. I'll give it a whirl, just to see if it does work.

will you not just change them?

lemme test it....

nope you only need to change that, hough adding things may make it not work.
