Showing the original Speed in the game

How can i show the real actual speed?
I want that people see the real speed even if they use a speed mod.
I have seen this already in the crossfire mod.
I know i have to use a hex editor.
Can you say me the Adress and what i should write there?
Perhaps can you write what normaly stands there?

I. Fetch thyself an Editor of Hex. Tis not an issue whither it be share, free or pay-ware. An goodly one is HIEW.
II. Readst thou thine manual for thine Editor of Hex.
III. Makest thyself an copy of Freelancer.exe. Test.exe t'would be good.
IV. Open Test.exe in thine Editor of Hex.
V. Shouldst thou desire to remove yonder Cruise limit, instruct thine Editor of Hex to go to this Offset : D5936
VI. At this location, thou wilst find two bytes, 0F and 85. Change to 90 and E9.
VII. Shouldst thou desire to remove yonder Trade Lane limit, instruct thine Editor of Hex to go to this Offset : D5984
VIII. At this location, thou wilst find but a single byte, and it shalt be 7E. Change this to EB.
IX. Savest thine changes.
X. Quiteth thou from thine Editor of Hex.
XI. Clicketh doubly so upon yonder Test.exe.
XII. Play.

Hi!

Got a question: I also tried to do this, but in my exe there are no such entries. When I goto the mentioned offsets, there aren't the entries (like 0F or 85).

Can it be that the Patched Exe (after the official Patch from MS) has these entries at another position?
This is because it would be great, if I could change this, but in my Exe I just cannot find the entries at the mentioned location. So I though that maybe after the patch, the entries are at another offset.

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Make sure you're using the no-cd cracked version of the EXE - the normal one has copy protection etc. to stop you editing it.

The posting was originally from Stone-D. What Anton wrote was already a quote.
