Un-Importable CMPs
Heyas folks. Got a bit of a problem here- it's actually an old problem that's now staring me in the face, and I need to get it solved.
Basically... I'm working on some SURs. Yup, SURs. Problem is... the models I need to make SURs for are original FL models that the CMP Import Plugin turns into an awful hash of bad triangles. We're talking about ku_destroyer, ku_battleship, rh_cruiser, rh_battleship, etc... any of the CMPs that use LOD0-212 in their CMP structure, as a matter of fact.
Any ideas? I guess I could just build new models from scratch, but they'd never be quite the same as the originals. I'm out've ideas here- all I need are the meshes, in a format that MS3D can read, but that doesn't seem to be possible I guess I could try to take some screenies from HardCMP and model the SURs roughly to scale, but I'm really not keen on that- these SUR meshes need to be absolutely 100% PERFECT, because they're such tricky things to properly construct.
